Well with us seemingly after one Robin Van Persie and a discussion with Drogs its got me thinking about who the best strikers in the league are. We have lost one of the best in Drogba so who now holds that honour?

Theres a few candidates, young and old who can stake a claim but I will try and keep it to 5. Place them in any order you like and add if any have been forgotten <ok>

Robin Van Persie - scored 30 goals in 37 starts last season. Got 9 assists. GPG = 0.81

Fernando Torres - scored 6 goals in 20 starts last season. Got 4 assists. GPG = 0.30

Sergio Aguero - scored 23 goals in 31 starts. Got 8 assists. GPG = 0.74

Wayne Rooney - scored 27 goals in 32 starts. Got 4 assists. GPG = 0.84

Luis Suarez - scored 11 goals in 29 starts. Got 3 assists. GPG = 0.38

    RVP
    Rooney
    Aguero
    Suarez
    Torres

In that order. Big gap between the top 3 and the other 2 aswell.

Suarez would certainly have had more if poo were playing better footy to be fair

Poo. Very apt, fair play for admitting it.

Suarez would be the best if there was no woodwork in football <doh>

I personally think Tevez is better than Aguero... I think Aguero is slightly overrated, but obviously he's still a very good player.

No, he came off the bench for one of their league games IIRC. One of the ones sandwiched in between two CL games. I think he still scored in that game tho'!

I was surprised rooney has the best gpg ratio.

Torres is a shadow isnt he, he really is that bad.

Ba/Cisse gotta be in here surely? Both had 2x better seasons than Torres or Suarez.

    RVP/Aguero
    Rooney
Cisse (may be a flash in the pan but he looks the real deal to me)
    Tevez (on his day mind)

Tried to leave the flash in a pan ones out, not saying they are but seen loads do it in their first season. I could of included hernandez for that reason <ok>

The strikers are from the bigger clubs, spurs have no strikers so they were omitted.

    I did state that <ok>

The best strikers tend to end up at the big clubs anyway.
