I hate to go back to an old theme - but we really really need a striker. We do not seemed to be linked with anyone or have I missed this? Warnock was known for having lots of strikers traditionally but we don't seem to see the push now. Please let Hulse ever play - though I will eat something horrid if he comes into the team and scores a goal a game.

i don't know why we just don't go for billy sharp or maynard ok not proven but then again morrison & graham wasn't but they've been scoring, can't for the life of me see defoe coming here & as regards johnson he's injured & prone to injury.

Good point that Jeff! Is someone who scores regularly in lower divisions a better bet than a PL player who blows hot and cold? Morrison and Graham suggest it could be - but didn't Hulse score regularly before he came to us?

He scored regularly about 15 years before he came to us. There's your problem with Hulse....

Surely there must be one, just ONE, decent striker out there in South East/East Asia that Tony Fernandes has the contacts to bring to us? Pisses me off that other sides have decent Korean and Japanese players while we are the ones that should be getting there first with TF's contacts.

I think it doesn't really matter what striker we get, the system we play at the moment doesn't support the strikers we have already. Need to go 442 or 433 at home to get some goals. Just seems to be too big a gap between midfield and the lone striker. HH can knock the ball down well but there is no one to pick it up from there.

personally I would like to se both Billy Sharp and Nicky Maynard at QPR. Both are young hungry players, Maynard has been at Crewe Alex, one of the few clubs to continually produce to players andif we can bring in some expereine as well then it is a win win situation. However, NW must do all he can to start off loading players such as Vine and Dave for example, just to free up moeny in the salary budget.

The problem we've had so far is, when we've played 4-4-2 our strikers haven't been up to it. So we've reverted back to playing Taarabt in a 4-4-1, which again isn't working.

People have been critical of Warnocks tactics, but I think it's more to do with under performing players and injury bad luck. Would we be in this position if we'd had the money in the summer to buy a decent striker and another decent CB??

I'm pretty sure that Warnock has signed Sharp before and let him go I maybe wrong but that springs to mind

He scored 18 in 2008/9 and 12 2009/10 according to Wikpedia. And he scored 47 with Crewe around 10 years ago --- so maybe we should keep away from Maynard :emoticon-0120-doh:

If AJ can get fit then I think he would be a great signing. someone to hassle defenders and run channels, we don't have that at the moment!

This is what we'd hope to get from DJ, not seen it yet due to injury and NW seeming to not want to try him.
