So with everyone in and around the club admitting that we need a new striker, be it short or long term and Hessy saying we will get one, does anyone have any ideas as to who that could be? We've all heard the Lisbie rumours, which would be good, but anyone know of anyone else on our radar?
lisbie would be good. not heard any rumours of him though? think it will only be a 6 month deal when we do get someone. shame we couldnt get a loan for benson. also i see brandy is still without a club.
Hess said on Radio Kent this morning that he hopes to have someone in by a week to ten days. If thats week days he's referring to, then that virtually takes us up to the end of the transfer window. Various stories have said that Norwich will let us have Cody on loan if no-one has met their valuation of him by then. So thats a possibility, and also I read yesterday that cody is going out with Hess's daughter. Don't know if thats true or not, but if it is,maybe he would like to come back to us.
Kevin Lisbie - Would be the best option up front, bring experience as well as pace up front, could really dominate in League 2 Fabian Brandy- All of us saw how good Brandy was and how well he could do given a run in the side. League 2 may be his level and being without a club may take any offer we put to him. West Ham loan- Lots of good quality players up front at West Ham and with the Hendon link it look's likely we will bring someone in until Birchill is back. Cody Mac - someone who will be welcomed back by all Gillingham fans, proven in League 2 and seems to have no real future at Norwich. Stranger things have happened. Others- There are a lot of older pro's and young kid's who are all still all looking for club's and we may offer one of them a lifeline.
Lisbie - would be a fantastic addition especially at L2 level but could imagine he would want some parity with the wages he was on at Ipswich so that might be an issue. Brandy - certainly seems like a good option, even if we give him a rolling contract, give him time to prove his worth with us again. Cody Mac - we can dream. If Norwich are valuing him @ upwards of 500k then they are going to want to find him a permanent suitor sooner rather than later. I highly doubt that we will be able to afford that! Although a loan until January would be sweeet.
I expect Hessysblueandwhitearmy will have wheeled past the club on his way to the kebab shop today so let's wait and see whether he's seen anyone in a suit outside the ground. He's not been on for a few days - do you reckon he's pulled the bird behind the counter in the co-op?
I think Brandy has gone to America. Has Lisbie still got the pace he had? I would expect us to be looking for someone a bit quick to play with Keds. If we don't get Cody, then I expect it to be a West Ham loan
I recon if it was a West Ham loanee then we would have already got him, why would it take this long to loan someone from a club we now have close connections with? I think we are holding out for Cody hence the lengthy delay...
If we don't get Cody I need to admit that it will be my fault. I have been so worried that a league two rival may acquire his services, I have suggested to my Spurs supporting friends that Cody would be more than a suitable replacement for Roman Pav... who is rumoured to be on his way out of WHL. Please accept my profound apologies.
DiCanio is talking as if Macdonald is on his way to Swindon. Some guy in a wheelchair was run over by a stretched limo outside Priestfield today. The paramedics were doing their best to save a laptop and a kebab. The bloke in the back of the limo looked like Jacob Erskine.
Am I the only one who didn't rate Brandy? Sure he was quick but offered little else, which is why he never got another club I suspect
Lisbie would be great for us, When they asked Hessenthaler on BBC Radio Kent about the Rumor, he Denied that he is in contact but it would be great.
Yeah it would be good to see Luke again, he is a good player and we could help him progress, we do him and favour, he does us one in return by scoring.
I didn't think he was that good and I wouldn't think he'd drop down to league 2 anyway. And also Freeman wouldn't be a good move. Would love to see Cody back but I think Norwich will be looking to hold out til the end of the window to sell him rather than have him on their books for another 6 months - year. I think the more likely option will be getting a striker on loan from West Ham.
Brandy is a good player, He would be great for us at the moment as he is a good striker partner who can create goals and that is just what kedwell needs.
lisbe wants championship money so unless scally hasnt checked his sofa in a long time not gonna happen cody will only be signed on loan on the 31st august you can bet on that as norwich will just want him off the wage bill and advertising himself to potential suitors for a perminant move in jan brandy, not sure if hes hess sort of player was quick and skillful but dont remember him being a natural goal scorer, good addition and shouldnt cost too much but think there may be better options on the loan market
