With Laudrup stating that this summer's signings will make for a "very interesting team next season" who do we think our new striker will be? I feel we will purchase 2. I noticed clubs are sniffing around Shane Long as he will only have 1 year left on his contract at the end of the season. Anyone else think he'd suit our team? In my opinion he is quick, industrious and scores all sorts of goals (took a shine too him when he was at Reading in the Championship). Long and Aspas would be perfect for us I feel. By all accounts Aspas is one of them who can play a number of positions. Discuss.
Well the club is being run very well and next season the TV revenue effectively doubles. Providing that we get planning permission for the stadium expansion and that we begin Phase One in the off-season, we'd have an additional 5,000 seats by my estimate which has no valid foundation. So that would also be budgeted as extra income. Laudrup will have quite a bit of cash to play with, and whilst there will no doubt be interest from other clubs... I think you guys should wiki Wilfried Bony. What you think are our chances?
I think Aspas is already lined up, hence the "interesting" comment from Laudrup. Just a hunch, nothing more.
"Fowler is a bigger name than him [Michael Laudrup]" thomas9990 - Sun 17th Jun 2012 : cardiffcityforum.co.uk Now that's hilarious !
I can't see Shane Long as being on our radar. A good Championship striker who's hardly set the world alight in the Premier League.
A good poacher who might thrive with the service we could offer him in contrast to what he gets now. Doesn't he have fitness issues, though?
I think we were being smart not buying anyone in Jan. I think the club were thinking ahead to the summer knowing Erik Larsen would be scouting full time and if we win in Wembley then European football would also be a big draw for players to sign for us. We also have £15m profit in the pot from this years transfer dealings as well as the increased TV revenue
I was hoping this thread was about what bikes you had as a kid. I had a Rakeigh Budgie, Raleigh Boxer and then jumped to the Grifter (blue with the twist grip gears!). I skipped the Raleigh Striker but did admirefrom afar the fake front fork suspension look!

To be fair terror, I haven't recovered from all the crap rumours flying around the last transfer window. I would rather concentrate on the here and now rather ..... And in a couple if months silly season will no doubt begin again! Nooooooo........
I hope we go for Aspas he would fit perfectly in to the system and style and Isaac Cuenca from Barcelona currently on loan in Ajax for the rest of the season and with MLs contacts in Ajax I hope someone can put in a word or two to lure him. If only one then Aspas but both would be nice
You never know, with our new asst manager being Danish under 21 coach, there might be a Danish youngster on the way ...Fischer, Andersen, Cornelius, Eriksen are all highly regarded. Would they want to play in the Prem with its financial rewards, worldwide stage and under the wing of their idol ML and their under 21 coach? Quite possibly! Shame we have to wait 5 months to find out!!
I think he's been "semi-injured" for most of the season. Personally I think he is OK as a striker - but that is all. I think Laudrup will have set his sights higher. By saying next years team wil be "interesting" suggests a couple of good signings
His stats appear good, should still have a lot to prove over here also. It appears he has many suitors looking to pay big bucks though...would be an exciting signing if we pulled it off.
