Concern must be the order of the day regarding Argyle's goal scoring potential..... as the new season is now only two weeks away. Last seasons goal scoring was definately below standard......and some of that potential were loanees that are no longer with us. The only new striker in so far is young none league Cowan-Hall......unproven at league level. We seem to be trying to bring in a 31 year old Welsh league striker in Rhys Griffiths........who wants a shot at league football.....but who is trying to negotiate a 1 or 2 year agreement with his fire brigade employers to give league football a go before he retires from football. It does seem to ring of desperation on PAFC's ability to bring in adequate Div 2 strikers........this does seem to be a problem that could shape the whole approach to the season........you wonder if the first hurdle will be getting more than 1pt in the first nine games......which will be a success on last year........good grief is it really that bad........don't bother to answer........I'll do it for you........YES IT IS !!! Will we be able to get some good loanees in when the window opens..... we might be depending on that even before the season starts.
Don't write the Welshman off just yet plym. I see no reason why this bloke can't be a good signing for us despite his age and having no league football experience. The reports on him in his trail match were very encouraging. They seem to be writing him off on ATD also but all the fuss seems to be that he has signed for us therefore he must be crap and nobody else would want him. How the hell do any of us know what offers he may have had over the years. I think he wants to have a go now before he no longer can to prove to himself that he could have been a contender. One thing for sure is he will be trying and won't be a passenger.
