As much as I like McLean and his work rate he just isn't scoring and he's had enough chances!! For some reason Pearson doesn't wanna give Simpson a chance but I do want Simpson to get a chance, so we need a new striker that can score goals and a lot of em! Any suggestions on who they should buy?!?

Think we`ve missed the boat with a number of strikers that have gone in recent times, seems they have been just out of our reach finance wise, pity I really do think someone like Austin or Mackail SMITH would have been a good investment, and when you consider we paid 1.3m for Maclean a little bit more could have got us a real gem. As for who is available now, your guess is as good as mine, I`m not sure that Waghorn would be the answer, seems listening to comments that he very much in the mould of Fryatt, and didn`t play that much with him at Leicester.

Yeah I agree someone like Austin and mackail smith would have been ace! But unfortunately we just haven't spent wisely! And for the waghorn situation I really don't rate him at all! Someone like that baldock or le fonder would have suited us more but we missed out on them both!-.-

If defenders like Reading's yesterday weren't climbing over Mclean all game we might have seen a bit more from him. He's looked better for me this season and he may only need a goal to egt him going. I was worried that horror miss against Donny last season may sink him, but he looks to be chomping at the bit at the moment which is good to see. The Simpson thing is puzzling, we started to see the best of him in the 2nd half of last season and finally looked to be settling here.

People are forgetting that McLean goes nowhere near the goal.

It's not like he's missing chances all the time like Fryatt and Simpson in the first couple of games. He just plays a different role for us.

Mcleans only played one game this season so it's a bit early to write him off, last season he joined us halfway through, takes a while for players to bed in unless they are superstars

Completely agree, look at Dzeko at Man City, was **** last year but after a pre season with the club has bagged 8 goals this season so far, not saying McLean is gonna score 20 or 30 goals this season, just needs a chance to show what he's capable of this season

Exactly Mclean's work is outside the box i would like to see if he has even had a real chance for us this season infront of goal? That is more to do with the role he has being employed in. If we had 2.75m for Baldock or over 3M for Mackail Smith no doubt we would have bought them but we are not a rich club.
