Striker Blackwood expected to return to QPR
By West London Sport 15/10/2015
Newport County manager John Sheridan has told the South Wales Argus that Tyler Blackwood is likely to return to QPR.
The 24-year-old striker, who joined Rangers in the summer, was signed on loan by Terry Butcher before the ex-England defender was replaced by Sheridan.
Blackwood has barely featured under the new Exiles boss, who said: “I’ve spoken to Les Ferdinand at QPR regarding Tyler. Obviously he’s not getting a lot of football.
“He came in under the previous manager and he’s a young kid and he’s not figuring too much.
“He’s in a hotel and on his own a lot and I’ve spoken to Tyler about the situation, and Les Ferdinand, and we’ll make a decision. But it does look like Tyler will be going back to QPR.”

Good. Put him on the bench and say to him to go out and score when we've 25 left on the clock. He might well surprise a few people!

It says a lot that he can't get a start with the team bottom of the whole football league, I think some on here don't realise how poor our youth set up has been. I don't think he is anywhere near ready for the Championship yet like many others in our youth team.

To suddenly switch the first team set up to be more youth-orientated you need top quality youngsters to be competitive, ours aren't...

He's a bit of a unique case given he can't really be considered a youth at 24.

If he's not good enough for Newport...

I don't think that's necessarily the case. Newport are a bit of a basket case and have just sacked the manager who recruited Blackwood. Might just be the wrong club at this time. He was a risk-free signing anyway which only had/has a small chance of being successful.

In his first match, he came on with a few minutes to go, and scored their winner (their only winner in fact in the whole league season).
Only 3 players have scored for Newport, so technically is their second highest scorer.
Since then they have changed managers, (at the start of October) who is working with the players he owns (sensibly)

I do not think you can write him off from this at all...he has been very unlucky, and will only fester there.
Get him back, and play him in the u/21....and see how he goes from there.
We need strikers.....agree an outing of the bench would be good for him ....and Greco-Cox (and Polter)
