There was the guy who replaced Toshack…..Tony Warboys, from Bristol City, I recall? He knocked a few in surely?
Alan Warboys. Scored 4 on his debut v Carlisle but signed too late to replace Toshack. By the time he signed a lot of games had passed and we just missed out on promotion.
Went to Brizzle Rovers and formed a tidy relationship with Bruce Bannister known as “Smash n Grab.”
Signed from Sheffield Wednesday for £42k. Scored 27 goals in 60 games. What would we give for that now? On the downside he seemed to have a permanent hamstring problem while with us.
