Cameron Jerome, Jay Bothroyd, Simeon Jackson, Tadanari Lee, Louis Saha, Sanchez Watt, Simon Church, Marc Antoine-Fortune, Will Keane, Sammy Ameobi, Adam Campbell, Samed Yesil, Saido Berahino, Callum McManaman, Nouha Dicko. Obviously majority would only be a loan deal. Darren Bent, Grant Holt, John Guidetti and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake are very faint, totally unlikely options (but you never know in football!) Also, people have suggested lower-league options: Clayton Donaldson (back here, would split opinion), Jose Baxter (even though he's just signed a new contract with them) and Tom Pope (even though he's 27 and only just realised how to score a goal). Take your pick!
Hey, if the allams fancy bankrolling a loan deal for Bent, with the signings today we would certainly be PL next season.... And then I woke up
Fortune might be the best we could hope for off that list. Would love Holt but don't think Norwich would let him go. Donaldson might be worth a punt - clearly has matured as a player since we let him go. Bent - no chance + SEB is playing for Wolves tonight and Nick Thompson said we haven't made a bid for him.
Noel Hunt and Frederic Piquionne other options too. Johnny Russell at Dundee Utd, as well... not sure how much he'd cost though? Don't think Nahki Wells would turn down the chance to play in a cup final at Wembley.
I have a sneaky feeling (not based on anything whatsoever) that we may be waiting on Norwich getting Gary Hooper and we may make a move for Simeon Jackson
Tom Pope has not signed for anyone yet and for £100k + add ons would be good value. Of the list given only Darren Bent looks a No No. Whatever we dont do today we can complete next week when the ELW opens up.
They can afford to gamble on players who might not make it above L1, they spend half their time there so they're just signing good players to give them a few years in the Championship every now and then. I know their owner is loaded, but I do wonder if they're in a similar position to Scunny, where if they stay in the Championship for too long after promotion the cost of bringing their ground up to standard is just too high for them to justify and they're better off getting relegated. Re the OP: Unless QPR have got Crouch in I can't see Bothroyd being available. That would leave them with Remy and Zamora as their only strikers, oh and Andy Johnson may make an appearance at some point.
Latest on BBC transfer page is that Kevin Davies is on the move from Bolton, Scottish and Champ team interested. ?????
Interesting. Bolton need to reduce the wage bill. Stephen Dobie from Blackpool on his way down to Palace.
I'm twitching like a pigeons head at the mere though of Davies. service from Elmo and Brady and his hold up play to bring Quinn, Aluko, Koren into attacking areas. Juicy
