Bristol City in contact for Brazilian striker – Player keen on the move Bristol City are interested in signing Arouca striker André Silva, Sport Witness has learned. After following the 24-year-old last season, the Championship side have now been in touch with the player’s entourage and are currently evaluating the possibility of making an offer. On the player’s side, there’s big expectation about the chance of making a move to English football, and he currently waits to see if an offer is made. There’s belief that a deal can be found for less than €1m, although the competition from clubs such as Braga could raise the fee. With seven goals scored last season, Silva was top scorer in Arouca’s campaign which led them to promotion to the first division. With no big aspirations from the club in the Portuguese top flight, he now looks for a bigger challenge in his career. The striker started his early career in Brazil and soon moved to Portugal. He first joined Rio Ave, and signed for Arouca on a three-year deal. With his contract expiring next year, Bristol have a good position in any potential negotiations. http://sportwitness.co.uk/bristol-city-contact-brazilian-striker-player-keen-move/
Always a gamble with players in the second tier of the lower standard leagues in Europe, you can either get a Kodja, or a Diony. It's quite a step up from the Portugese second tier to the English second tier. Let's hope the scouts have it figured out..
Before someone gets excited after searching his name. It is not the Portugese player worth about 40 million.
