The team have seen a few different line-ups this season, including a number of different attacking pairings. Zamora has done well so far in terms of goals, but I feel he often spends too much time deep or out wide to really get the goals we need throughout the season. What are peoples favoured attacking line-ups? And what has happened to Tabs? Yes, he certainly can be frustrating etc etc, but I still feel we miss his ability to find that killer pass etc.
We should unleash Adel against Reading in the league cup match with an instruction to shoot whenever possible from within 25 yards of goal. The rest of the team need to be told to leave him be and not hound him for missing shots or failing to opt for better options. If Adel can score one or two cracking goals his confidence will return even if we don't run out as winners. Bring him in for the Hammers match but then tell him to be creative and not hog the ball, only shoot if there is a clear chance and no other options. I think he is best suited to playing against the likes of Reading and West Ham who will rely on solid back four defences and Adel can then chance his arm (foot) from set pieces. There must be a way of using his talents during specific games, it turned out to be a vey wise decision not to include him in the team that faced Chelsea, but I am still convinced he has what it takes to run the game against some of the lower ranked teams.
Hope we can get Cisse into form and scoring - there is a very good opportunity this week LC against Reading. If we can get him and Adel fit and in form then I'd like to see an attacking 4 (in 4 2 3 1) of Cisse, Adel, Hoillet and BZ for the easier games with Granero and Ale in the 2 behind them. In the tougher games I think we need an additional powerful, quickish, box to box midfield player (Diakite if fit, or M'bia maybe) to support Granero and Ale, in a 4 5 1 maybe, then one of the attacking 4 will need to make way - who dependant on form and the opposition.
