My fears grow as the silence continues...

No word from Ridsdale or Guilfoyle regarding the lack of money. It suggests that they knew the money was not forthcoming and are waiting to make their exit. The lack of news regarding the other bidders is more worrying still - there is really no more time for a rescue bid to be actioned.

Someone mentioned to me yesterday at work that it Heaneys plan could be; to let the club die, then with the club closed down Heaney and BIL could apply to change the land usage rights for Home park, this would mean they could apply to demolish Home Park and build on the land there.
I hope that this is wrong...
Sorry about the doom and gloom but I think Fridays announcement was bull****. If the money is not here by the weekend, then I think we could be out of time.

Heaney has stressed that Truro is his priority - not for sale. That also makes me edgy.

We will have to wait until we hear more...

Stapleton was not a big player in our demise himself - Gardner, Todd and Synan ruined the club in my view.

I agree Paul Stapleton took PAFC as far financially as he could..........in hindsight he would probably agree that he brought the wrong people in.

His judgement I felt was rather lacking regarding his Dubai holiday (I haven't been for a swim yet, honest) when all was falling down back home.

Concern at present that none of the main players in this take-over saga are available to talk at the moment..........the question everyone wants answering is what is holding up the sale.

The players, manager, staff and fans are wanting to know why its not happening.

I agree. I just hope we get through this weekend with a team intact - regardless of the scoreline.

if the club was to die and i do not think it will, i suggest mrs pengelley and her fellow councillors would not let heaney or his gib based irish consorts any way near home park.

Sorry, refuse to believe it. Cannot die and will not die. Based on nothing more than pure hope which is all any of us have got left. Whilst you cannot blame people who are not getting paid for their work, unless it is charitable and they chose to do it, I fail to understand why they would do this now. Surely the buy out is imminent now as even these people cannot stetch it out much further. I am not around this weekend so will not be in any position to know what is going on. By the time I return I expect something will be in the public domain. Stapleton should never set foot in Home Park ever again as a fan or anything else. How people can leave him out of blame for all of this I just cannot see. He isn't the sole person at fault but he is one of them fan or not. Dangle the prospect of investment and jobs in front of any Politician of any colour and watch them go back on everything they have ever stated previously. I have no faith in any of them to do the right thing as like a lot of others they do things for their own benefit first and formost.

I don't blame the players if they strike. The longer all this goes on with silence the worse it is. I don't care who saves the club and owns it but I do not think the riddler etc are doing themselves any favours with their silence. If the deal is virtually done then why no wages and why the silence. Surely if the riddler wants the club then he should be pushing and fighting to make it as good as possible not just letting this debacle continue. That is what worries me.

Brendan Guilfoyle is the one that needs to speak..........with that nice Mr Heaney/Bilge and ask them to pay this moment or withdraw...........Guilfoyle then needs to allow enough time for someone else preferably Brent or if it has to be Buttivant to complete a deal..........Guilfoyles company should compensate the players and staff themselves and get the money back from the so called preferred bidders.

do not blame the players for striking, and i hope they play. something will turnup next week. you need a new admin man, as guilfoyles wallet is stuffed with cash, and a new consortium who should be allowed to pay in stages to save your great and valient club. heaney and bilge should be kicked into the long grass of truro.
surely the yorkshire administrators will not want their precious name dragged through the plymouth mud by the actions of their employee and a very one sided contract.

step forward brendt and pengelley and a new chairman and board. now you are on your way back, oh and your lot can beat burton if their minds are on the job!

I for one fully support the contracted players not getting on the coach for Burton today-they have'nt been fully paid since Jan this year for christ sake!.Heard Romaine and Fletch on radio Devon this morning,Fletch said "they are taking the piss" and Romaine thought the players were completey "disrespected"-says it all really. What really makes me nauseas is that it's now exactly one week since Guilfoyle stated he was satisfied B.I.L. had the funds to proceed with the takeover,as Larieu said today if the money is available as Heaney said last week ,where is it? they knew of the urgency of the situation.Of course we all celebrated last Friday,it's only human-but it's clear a week on we have all been taken in LIED TO!.This indeed is a dark hour-Guifoyle possibly on gardening leave,Heaney remains a dubious, shadowy figure who has'nt kept his word and Ridsdale is scrabbling around in New York (maybe with the best of intentions) looking for funding and we may be fielding a youth team tomorrow against Burton.Clearly an alternative takeover is the only option apart liquidation remaining.

In the business world that Heaney frequents....how can he hold is head up.......how can others be associated with him in the work place and feel that he is no more than a cheap version of Del Boy.........without the laughs............he is surely heading for the knackers yard and the sooner the better.

:mad:I have long believed there was something fishy about he Heaney/BIL bid. Guilfoyle accepted a lower bid on some vague basis that Bullivant had not provided proof of funds and BIL had. Guilfoyle is clearly in some bother now as he repeatedly extended the deadlines to accommodate his 'preferred bidder'. From what little I remember of my insolvency law, there was no legal basis for him doing so. Guilfoyle's indulgence of BIL has put us in a position whereby other rescue packages are struggling to do anything meaningful in the time available.

Without wishing to impugn the administrators' honesty, I do have to question their judgement and competence. The need for extending the deadlines at every stage should have given them a clue as to nature of the beast they were dealing with. A much more professional approach was required. The impression left is that Guilfoyle preferred the BIL bid because it was favourable to his old pal, Ridsdale. Of course, notdistant, I have absolutely no evidence for saying that, but I do find it hard to form a different view of the way this affair has been mishandled.

Sad times at Home Park at the moment. I've posted a thread on the Pompey board about the 'strike threat' With Pompey on the verge of going out of business this time last year we certainly have a great deal of empathy towards your current plight. Let's just hope the change in administration [probably not the best choice of word] at the club can result in better times.

The supposed deadline passed an hour ago now. Is there any news?
