I am bored of all the ongoing guff recently so have decided to get people's thoughts looking forwards.

If/when Holt goes you cannot help but think it will leave a hole in our forward line shown up by the fact that you then become much more reliant on what is left - ie 3 centre forwards (4 if you count Chrissy Martin). However, let's not forget that Holt had a pretty poor start to the last campaign and Morison was playing better than him well into the season. It was lucky for us that as Morros form deserted him (and don't forget that was in part due to an injury he was carrying) that Holt came good.

My thoughts looking forwarsd were on a Morison - Jackson partnership. When recollecting games from last season I cannot remember many times when they played together. I wonder why that was as Morison is very good in the air and Jacko is always looking to get on the end of those flick ons. What do others think of whether they could strike up a decent partnership? Or would you prefer Vaughn with Morro? One up top worked early on in the season but it looked pretty ineffective later on in the campaign.

Come on guys lets have a non-PL GH good old thrash it out thread!!!

I think we will need to bring someone in, whilst Chrissy will get another chance with a new manager, I don't think he'd be in serious consideration for a full strength starting XI. At the moment I'd say Morison and Vaughan would probably be our strongest attacking partnership, but if we went something like 4-2-3-1, we might be able to utilise Hoolahan in support of Morison, or Pacheco if he was to join. Midfield is probably our strongest area at the moment, so packing 5 in there might work, and free up someone with some creativity to link up play and create chances.

The new boss will have his own ideas though, and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with. I?WT!
