Tim Howard's goal last night got me thinking. What is the strangest goal you've seen? I'm old enough to remember couple of previous keeper efforts and some outrageous own goals.The one that really sticks in my mind was the balloon one in the FA cup. Man City against Sheff Untd. Any others?
The goal that never even went anywhere near the net and was awarded by the linesman :-D Cant recall who..was it Brighton or Reading? Sure it crossed the line, but wasnt really between them two white stick things.
Watford v Reading the ghost goal, somehow Stuart Attwell gave a goal even though it didn't go in between the posts
Wasn't happy with the goal given to Ipswich, the ball had hit the stantion behind the goal and rebounded back into play whereupon they scored, not one player protested but the video evidence confirmed it and the only person to notice was the commentator at the time!
Mark Hughes' goal for Saints that was never given. It went so far over the line it hit the hoardings behind.
