Our whole game revolves around the 3 midfielders in the middle of the pitch , has for years. Sometimes you can throw an expiermental guy in and be ok . I've even seen us be ok with 2 guys with little expierence playing two of these middle positions . But you always need a " Britton "type player to solidify the link , someone who has ate , drank and slept that position for years .I knew we were sunk when Amat , Shelvey and De Guzman lined up in these positions , all capable of being off any given game and as it turned out today, all were. Hope our manager learned a lot about us today, I know alot of other managers did !

Yep I was worried when I saw the midfield line up without Britton. Canas is a reasonable replacement when Britton is not available but the midfield needs one of these two. They made get pushed off the ball occasionally but nothing to loss of fluency of possession.

Yes Seabreeze think your right. Picking Amat to play DCM said more about our concerns than any desire of ours to impose our game on then.

I've defended the Manager on other threads but this selection baffled me.
