With a team that has been performing since January at a level that would have had us in the top third of the league.......why do we find ourselves still not safe from relegation ? Having already amassed 52pts with still one match to be played.....six more than we achieved during our dire season last year.....we are still not over the line. Last season 2011/12 had seven clubs finishing with less than 52pts. Bradford 50pts. Dag & Red 50pts. Northampton 48pts. Plymouth A 46pts. Barnet 46pts. Hereford 44pts. Macclesfield 37pts. Whoever gets relegated this year will count themselves very unlucky to be caught up in a season of such improved performances to avoid relegation. So why ?........can it be something to do with the quality of some of the loanees that some clubs required.......who knows. Disappointing that two of our best loanees didn't last the distance....Banton recalled by Palace (actually a non-playing sub yesterday) and Cox (Swindon) who picked up a serious shoulder injury that finished his season. Oh for another goalscorer.......it could of been so different. Surely the football gods cannot yet still relegate Argyle.....yesterdays results where cruel.....next Saturday surely cannot bring the impossible outcome that we do not deserve.......what is sure is that the next seven days will be very very long.
This time next week we will be nice and safe! We won't have nothing to talk about or moan about!! WE are staying up
for those thinking of going to Rochdale, the initial allocation of 500 tickets have sold out but the club have asked for more. Rochdale can easily accommodate 1500 away fans (in what is the best stand at the ground) but could allow 3500 away fans to attend if needed. With their home attendances often around 2000 there is every chance there might be more Argyle fans than Rochdale on Saturday. Come on, its only a 600 miles round trip and the pies and peas are worth the trip alone!!
As we speak a friend just texted me to say, 12 coaches and 2 train carriages all full so far.. i may be tempted.. but will drive.. it will be a good money spinner for Rochdale
The players are paying for one of the coaches We are coming, We are coming, we are coming down the road, when you hear the noise from the Green & White boys, we'll be coming down the road !!!
Didn't you once used to hide under the stairs sensible.......or down in the cellar at the Pilgrimage....eating your way through those stale hidden away crisps that you kept telling us had finished (no barmaid allowed)......and listening to all those old Argyle tapes of better times to pass the time away' The Dag & Red v York game will probably save us........or even Northampton beating Barnet. OR.......Argyle winning at Rochdale.
Considering your success in the prediction league Joe, please !!!! please !!!! please !!!! predict them to lose
Do you know Gat I was discussing this very thing with my Mrs. On Saturday I bought 2 x 50/50 tickets. My numbers were 4477 and 4478 and 4479 won the money. I had 6 numbers on the lottery but they were on 3 seperate lines x 2 on each. My theory being that I should put £10 on Argyle being relegated which is bound to go wrong given my gambling successes. If it came in however I could afford to pay for a trip on the Santander ferry thus throwing myself off halfway across. It's the only sane plan I could come up with.
I only predict wins Gat for argyle and that will be with the joker this wek so treble points for me with the joker 2-1 argyle win and will do it at the bookies as i am confident... I consider my predictions to be a success seeing they only take a few seconds!!! i may try and concentrate this wek.. but that is difficult for me...Sensible, no need to go near that ferry... I also heard a rumour that it was Sheridans last game no matter what? anyone else here this.. hope he does stay.. but with Warnock lurking we do not know..
So that's only a one way ticket then sensible.........I hope Mrs sensible will be bought a return ticket ?
