A Premier League club has asked the FA for permission to have each players Twitter handle on the back of their shirts(under the number).

I can't see what the point is?

I would've thought any manager would hate the idea.

Couldn't they always put the info on their website?

So does this mean it would become compulsory for all players to have a twitter handle in the first place? I really, really hope not.

Another example of everything that's wrong in the game.

I'm going off football at a rapid rate of knots and if this sort of bollocks becomes the norm it'll just speed up the process.

Yep ! I actually find it impossible to justify my love for the game these days.

Aye if it was us this thread would be 200 pages of Allam is a ****.

I agree with Carmine the football landscape is changing and it definitely isnt for the better.

I don't understand what they feel it would add to the game. Who on the PL board has shares in Twitter?

Is it just a way for Twitter to be a back of shirt sponsor

Who gives a **** what some deadhead footballer has for breakfast?

    They shouldn't be encouraging it.

If they put anything on their backs, it should be an actual copy of their passed drug test certificate, safety pinned on.

"But, but, but...the pins could be dangerous..."

It has the word 'safety' in the name, so it's safe. Deal with it.

I hope they don't **** about with this **** here, but with a club that won't even put its own name on its shirts, anything is possible.

So here goes - Allam is a ****, and merely a symptom of the poison already deeply infecting the game.

    There, I said it.

Am I the only one excited by this innovative and revolutionary idea?

It means that I'll be able to twiter follow all my PL faves and other top, top footie kickers and see what they are up to at the EXACT moment I'm watching them on BT Sky.

I can't wait for the new fixtures to come out. I hope it's The Arsenal for us in Match Week 1. I can't wait to see what Jack Wiltshire tweets when he's tackled by Paul McShane again! I wonder if they'll tweet each other about this afternoon's spectacle?

This idea is going to revolutionise soccer like Twenty20 has made test cricket obsolete.

Let's have a big shout out for Twitter!

Give it up for the creatives who thought up this wonderful idea!

Really don't want anymore adverts on shirts.

The amount RL teams have on theirs is shocking & makes it look awful. It would be crap if football went down that path.
