    I'd forgotten these gems!

Reporter: Welcome to Southampton Football Club. Do you think you are the right man to turn things around?

Strachan: No. I was asked if I thought I was the right man for the job and I said, "No, I think they should have got George Graham because I'm useless."

Strachan: "When he [Claus Lundekvam] was carried off at Leicester someone asked me if he was unconscious, but I didn't have a clue. He's always like that....."

He's by far the best man for the job.

He can't do any worse than those who have gone before him, but he's got such a small pool of talent to select from that I doubt results will change much and Strachan by nature is not a gung-ho attacking manager.

So, when they play teams more technically gifted than them (which is pretty much every team) will Strachan opt for a defensive formation. If so, then those non-Celtic & non-Aberdeen scotland fans may well not give him too long a honeymoon period.

Reporter: So, Gordon, in what areas do you think Middlesbrough were better than you today?
Strachan: What areas? Mainly that big green one out there....

Reporter: Bang, there goes your unbeaten run. Can you take it?
Strachan: No, I'm just going to crumble like a wreck. I'll go home, become an alcoholic and maybe jump off a bridge. Umm, I think I can take it, yeah.

I've got more important things to think about. I've got a yogurt to finish by today, the expiry date is today. That can be my priority rather than Agustin Delgado.

Reporter: Gordon, Do you think James Beattie deserves to be in the England squad?
Strachan: I dont care, I'm Scottish

Yeah I didn't see the point in getting rid of Levein who is an equally acceptable manager to anyone else, as far as I can see. He went for losing to Wales, and Belgium who now feature a load of top class players. But in the Wales-Scotland match there was only one top player on the pitch, and he won the game. But I suppose if you can't change the players, you might as well keep sacking the managers.

Well it's much easier to change the manager, be fair it's not like Scotland are short of top managers is it? Funny how none of them want the job though.

Scotland is the biggest of all the poison chalises. Gordon must have been mad to take this job as it will all end in tears.

For a fair % of Capello's £6m, I would! I firmly believe I could have got that team to play equally as badly in South Africa for £1m

Nonsense Godders. We can`t get much worse, and he is coming in when the market is low. Remember he left Saints when the market was high.

I wish him all the best. He can't really **** the job up, because no one's expecting anything much.

When asked about the ginger wigs Saints fans started wearing during the 2003 Cup run, Strachan said " I thought I saw ma Granny in the stands."
