The logic of the ECB, for me, defies understanding. If you have been arrested and not charged then you are not available for selection but if you are charged with a serious offence, affray, then you can be selected He was denying any wrongdoing after being arrested and still after being charged denies any wrongdoing, so what exactly has changed? Yet another sport governed by idiots. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/42718484
One thing has changed; the simple fact that England (and Wales) were well and truly stuffed Down Under and the ECB need all the help that they can get and now they are changing their tune.
Just said the same to my brother. Their argument that the time it will take would stand up, apart from he has been prevented from doing so for the last 2-3 months or so. Unless the coach has said he doesn’t want that drama distracting the squad, this is the most pathetic handling of an issue I’ve seen for a long time. You couldn’t say he would have changed the course of the ashes with any certainty. However there is no doubt our bowling, batting and fielding improves when he’s in the side. He’d have made a difference for sure.
