The winger's involvement for Stoke has been hampered over the past month due to a jaw displacement which has been causing a back problem. Etherington missed the defeat at Arsenallast week before playing the final 25 minutes of Monday's 1-1 draw at home with West Brom. He has now had his jaw problem fixed and Stoke boss Tony Pulis hopes Etherington is available to face his old club West Ham at the weekend. Tentative Pulis said: "We will have to wait and see whether he can play a part on Saturday. He will want to play as he did on Monday. "We put him on for 20-25 minutes and he looked very tentative. But players want to play and Matty is no different. "They have sorted out his jaw line and what goes with it. Apparently it is back in working order. "Who am I to say? I have to laugh at what goes on now."
