Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is preparing to make a £6million bid in the hope of luring Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge to the Britannia Stadium. Potters boss Pulis is hoping the chance of a fresh start and the chance to play regular European football next season will be enough to convince the England under 21 international to make the move. The Blues youngster Sturridge was a massive hit at Bolton last season after moving to the Reebok Stadium in a January loan move. The Trotters are interested in renewing that loan agreement with Chelsea, but Pulis is wants to steal a march by offering a permanent deal for the 21-year-old. And the Stoke boss knows time is running out to bring in top-level reinforcements. The Potters' first Europa League game is just a month away. He said: âItâs going to be an active market and an expensive market this year. âThe top six clubs are all looking to spend. That always filters through. âSunderland have sold big, Blackburn have sold big and there will be other clubs who will have a little bit of money in their pockets to go out and buy players. âI expect it to be a very difficult market but a market where there will be a lot of movement.â Sturridge's uncle Simon played for Stoke during the 1990s.
