In our 3 years we have finished:

    12th, 11th & 13th

But still some ****ing muppets on here want more.

Pulis is ****, what ambition are we showing as a club?

    Get a ****ing grip people.

Like Pulis says, this football club will evovle steadily, without putting the club's finances at stake.

    We are slowly evolving.

    Trust in TP xxx

To think i saw Stoke play at Sunderland in 2006/7, a mediocre looking side roared on by about 65 fans. If you had told me then that you would be starting your fourth straight Premier League campaign in 2011, i'd have said you were a ****ing fruit loop.

    Amazing job by Pulis.

    *Claps*

Until we actually do badly, there is nothing to moan about.

Two great defenders for free? Bargain.

2 great defenders? You think so? Woodgate is exceptional but I genuinely think Upson is past it and you know he is going to be playing left back regularly.

Upson was one of the few players who seemed to give a damn at the World Cup, so I know he's a Pulis type of player. We'll have to see how he goes.

He's most probably much better than D. Collins in any case.

Disappointing comments Huth! I have tried to be cunstructive in my commenst and have acknowledged the good TP has done, like the european results so far! threads like this just insight an argument! As great as the sigings are to date, Pulus has managed to increase our average age in the squad further with 2 more defenders - excellent evolution!!!!!!!!

    Mighty Huth,
You were warned mate, in fact given a seven day ban for having too much to say on the General Chat board?

That's lifed yep, I got a pm from cyprussyd.

A bit OTT Mighty Huth don't you think so?

BEFORE you fire back at me firstly can I say this.

I agree 110% with you when you said, T.P. has done an amazing Job with what he's had at his disposal to date! In fact, up until the middle of last season, I was over the moon like we all were. That, we've confounded the know it alls, thousands of rival fans, pundits, critics all and sundry.
I am and ALWAYS will be eternally grateful to a guy who has in fact. "Turned Stoke City on it's head" IF ANYONE had told me 4 years ago, we would be here today. Like the Makem fan above said. It was dreamland, something we NEVER thought possible, Stoke City were back in the big league. <ok>

    Now,
IF you have a problem with either ME, Smither's, Oldboothen NOT sure what's happened to him. Nick or ANY Stoke fan trying to be "Constructive with their comments" Fine we are ALL here to detate, argue the toss, even agree from time to time. Also, as with certain other things in life. Sadly, YOU will find that. NOT everyone will ALWAYS agree with WHAT YOU think personally.

I happen to believe that, Tony Pulis is doing his very best. But, IF I or someone else thinks/say's they don't like what he's doing, how he sets out the team. WHY do you have to bite their head off? NONE of us can say we are always right, no one is perfect. So, if you can PLEASE tone it down.. it would be much appreciated Mighty Huth.

There is NOTHING the matter with me, Smither's, Nicky or any other Stoke fan. The ONLY thing that matters to me at least here on this board. Is STOKE CITY and it's loyal band of followers. So please don't be so bloody condecending with your comments in future.

IF you feel you still have to bite my head off, feel free. But, YOU CAN not keep on name calling because there are certain things we MAY NOT be too happy with.

YOU have the right to an oppinion Mighty Huth and I will respect you for it. What you have written shows a massive dissrespect for some fans on here.

Please, just calm it down if you can. <cheers>

    For the record

I don't want T.P. OUT, I ONLY want WHAT is BEST for STOKE CITY F.C. IF I choose too not like him for it, please try and understand WHY sometime's we ALL get frustrated it's because we care. IF he does well, I give the man credit. If I think he's being negative in any way, I will say so. It doesn't mean that we are all idiots.

    Rant over.. <peacedove>

Potts after re-reading my post, i do take back the phrase:

But still some ****ing muppets on here want more.

    Yes we are all stokies

All i'm asking for, is to give TP a chance in this transfer window, lets see who ACTUALLY brings in.

We have just brought in 2 ENGLAND INTERNATIONALS for £0.

Yes ok they were defenders, but what a set of 4 CB'S we have.

If things go well this year, then we WILL DEFO PLAY MORE THAN 38-45 games this season, you all saw in the FA CUP FINAL how thin we were with injuries, TP is now putting those to right.

Just hold tight and see what FORWARD THINKING PLAYERS he brings in, if he brings NONE in then i might just be on the supporters side that i called muppets in the original post.

Not a rant, just a response.

Trust in TP. If there's one thing we can all agree on then surely is that his record in the transfer market (so far at least) has been much better than most managers in the Prem. It's a bugger always having to wait until deadline day but he will deliver.

In a previous post all I asked is for those doubters, those thinking TP is too negative give him a break. We are in Europe still. More than I thought we would be when I heard who were were playing. Agree wholeheartedly that in the Final we were found wanting in terms of back up for injuries. Yes TP has brought in cover so far. He has also tried to get a few others. Even I am unsure what he will do with 4 centre backs! But remember 31st August last year as I have said previously.

But please give him and the team support in Sunday so we can get a point or I am dreaming of 3!

I will be in the Harvesters from around 12:15 so I hope to see a few there?

    Best wishes

    Cris

    Mighty Huth,
Thanks for coming back with a response... AND I will give T.P. a chance to prove me wrong i.e. new player's. Not sure who said... it's a right pain having to wait
until the last minute for signings... yes it is.

I said this on another thread. I think the ONLY thing some of us are guilty of is maybe.."Expecting too much" If that's what you think we are doing?
Well, I'm sorry If I'm an ambitious grumpy old so and so.

And, I sincerely hope I and a few more have to eat humble pie. Main thing is, whatever I or anyone say's or asks for on here. We all get behind the team on Sunday.
And we will..Big Respect from me Mighty Huth.. let's start the season off with a bang and get the Brit rocking this weekend. Sell out crowd, Chelsea let's go for it T.P.

    <ok>

Whilst I acknowledge your comments Huth and generally rate your views, I have to say this thread seems way of the mark! I dont think anyone has slated the sigings out right, just suprised that we have invested in more of the same without enhancing the weak links in our team and squad! People are entitled to their opinion on who they rate and who they dont, and I think their thoughts are more alligned to the clubs these players are coming from and the wages they recieve - which sits with your argumnet taht we are still a small club who can, and only will attract a certain type of player! Going for marque names at the top end of our wage structure that are "alledged;ey" backup to our core talent (Huth, Shawx, Matty & Pen) seems a sure fire way to wreck a happy home! That is my opinion and dosent mean that I would turn my nose up at these type of players, just i think the wages could be invested better in players that should be playing 40 games a season and who will make a difference to the way we play!

Smithers i have read your last post 3 times, & cannot still work out what you mean?

Do you want exact same ****ty backup players on crap money(ie 20k a week, like we allready have), or do you not want improved quality players on the top wage we currently can afford?

It's all relative and shows where football is heading for an implosion and Huthy said it:

    "Crap Money (i.e. £20K a week)"!!!!

Well well - poor old s..tty back up players, my heart bleeds for them <wha><wha>

I dont think back up for CB's was a priority over the midfield, and if it was why did he let Faye go? I appreciate that Higgy is injured but when fit he can cover CB and surley full back cover would have been more important? If Woodgate and Upson will bench warm and cover when required then thats fantastic, but I think we all know that will not be the case and it will result in good quality players being played out of position! In addition TP has stated that "this football club will not break its wage structure" and yet we know Woodgate is on a 20K base with a pay as you play bonus equating to a further 20k a week - I cant see him wanting to sit on the bench and lose that money if fit and i cant see Upson being paid less than our top earners. If this is the case (which I dont know for fact, it is only my opinion) then the back up CB's are getting paid more than our young and successful partnership of Huth & Shawx - I dont see that as a sensible way to manage your pay structure when we very clearly need to invest that money into other areas of the team. In relation to SWP (I have never rated him and feel he is massivley overpaid), he would be excellent BACK UP but he would surley be in the 40K bracket given that he currently tops 70K! That would dwarf Matty's 28K and Pennants 35K - again strange! Surley cover would have been better pursued in the likes of Matty taylor and Eagles or I would have preffered some young english talent from the lower leagues! Infact, I would love to have seen our youth development (overseen by TP for 5 years) to have started to show in our squad!

We are going to have an even bigger squad than last year with a higher wage bill! Just my thoughts, and if you read back through my post you will see that I said we can not judge until the close of the transfer and establish whether those decession were justified until the 7th or 8th game! I'd say that was pretty reasonable my friend - wouldn't you?
