    Stoke City are understood to have made an offer for Icelandic international player Aron Gunnarsson, despite the defensive midfielder only completing a move to Cardiff City last summer.

    Tony Pulis is thought to be suitably impressed with the development of the midfielder since his move from Coventry City to Cardiff City last June, and is ready to test the resolve of the Bluebirds with a 2.75m GBP offer this week.

    The 22 year old, who has over 25 caps to his name already, has helped Cardiff City to a Carling Cup semi final already this year, whilst the Bluebirds are pushing promotion to the Premier League with a 3rd placed position in the Championship.

    Gunnarsson has three years left on his contract with the Welsh side, and his club are understood to be unwilling to entertain any offers until the end of the current season.

    No, but it's a bit quiet so I thought it might stoke up a bit of interest.

    lol.

    on a more serious note, MM has pulled a rabbit out of the hat to get this guy on a free, excellent all round midfielder and i wouldnt be surprised if he could make the step up to top flight football if we got promoted <ok>

    You're right there Swamp. I would not be surprised if there are Prem teams watching him and a few others too.

    Whitts, Ralls, Gunnar & Miller are all in the spotlight.

    <ok>

    On an even more serious note you can take that 2.75 and add another 5.0 to it if they want Gunner. I mean how much do set piece specialist go for these days some people want a guy when he can bend it like Beckham stoke obviously want him cos he can deliver like Delap!!

    why give him away? both players we got from coventry are excellent players, from a coventry point of view they should have done everything they could to keep them..
