Morning Next weekend will be my first ever trip to Stoke, unfortuantley our numbers have dropped as we had 16 people but as soon as it was announced it was on tele a few lad's head have been turned so there is now only 8 of us going, despite been a canny age between us , not one of us has ever been to Stoke before. any one know of any good watering hole's down there, also i have been made aware Stoke is a ****hole, i believe this but can any one clarify how much of a boghole it is?
Stoke is a ****ing dump. There is a pub right off the motorway(where the ground is), a 2 minute walk to the ground. Gets quite full, had to queue up to just get in last time so get there early. Its OK, we took it over last time and the Stokies took offence to us singing, tossers.
The ground is in a retail park basically, there are very few pubs nearby and they are all Home dominated, as someone said, they don't seem to take to away fans, also there are no cash points for miles so make sure you have plenty of cash on you, I had to walk for about 2 miles to find a cash point
Cheers Leazes, Mick &Pat All very helpful information, some more than other's though i must say. Looking forward to it, 5 o clock in the morning on the drink. should be a canny mess when i get back
Never been to the Britannia but I have had the misfortune of visiting Stoke a few times when I was doing white van work. Our B&W friend is spot on, Stoke makes Sunderland look like Monte Carlo. The best way to see it is in your rear view mirror as you speed away down the M6
At the begining of the season i said i was going to try and visit some of the grounds that i have never been to, so far thats turned out to be lie's, the only 1 so far been Blackpool, we always seem to go to the same dumps every season but will add Stoke, Birmingham & West Ham to the list before the end of the season, any one know how many tickets we got for Stoke? I know it was over subscribed
