Stoke are ready to turn their attentions to Tottenham striker Peter Crouch after pulling the plug on Carlton Cole. The Potters were close to signing Cole after agreeing a fee with West Ham but the deal collapsed due to the striker's wage demands and Pulis will have to turn his attentions elsewhere. Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome remains a target but as the two clubs struggle to agree a fee, it has emerged that Crouch is now an option for Pulis. Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is ready to let Crouch leave as he attempts to shake things up at White Hart Lane and he could be available for a fee in the region of £8million. Chairman Peter Coates is again refusing to name targets but is hopeful of making a breakthrough. "Yes, we would expect that to happen," he said. "We are confident we will be able to improve the squad before the deadline. We are working on a few things, but football is a messy business and these things take time." Again Crouch's wages could be a problem but the Potters are showing their ambition by trying to lure top quality players to the Britannia Stadium.
Can't agree northy, crunchie is our sort of player, he wants to stay in London and he's an ex-hoop. Loan deal part wages paid, robot dancing at the toffees job done son
They used to call him Lurch at Dulwich Hamlet... No surprise to see other clubs interested, he's a proven goalscorer.
maybe a loan deal could be on the cards -especially if Taarabt goes and we end up giving Spuds a large wad of cash....
I know! Let's sell Adel back to Spurs in part exchange for Crouchie. I'm sure he would love to link up with 'Arry again...
