Stoke boss Pulis wants Elland Roadââ¬â¢s *23-year-old Scotland *international ace as a *replacement for Glenn Whelan. Republic of Ireland star Whelan, 27, will quit the Potters on a free when his contract runs out at the end of the season. And Pulis wants to bring Snodgrass, who has been one of the shining stars of Unitedââ¬â¢s promotion push this term, to the Britannia Stadium in his place. But any deal for the former Livingston star will depend on the outcome of the Yorkshire clubââ¬â¢s bid to return to the Premier League after an absence of seven years. If Leeds go up, then *Snodgrass will pledge his future to boss Simon Graysonââ¬â¢s side. But if their top flight challenge fails, then Leeds would reluctantly have to consider allowing him to pursue his Premier League dream elsewhere. Snodgrass, who made his Scotland debut as a sub against Northern Ireland last month, is currently half-way through a four-year deal at Elland Road.
He is a top player hope it's true and not paper talk! Personally I won't be sorry to see Whelan go he is a championship player at best! Could do with Sidibe and Diao close behind him through the exit door along with Tonge and a few more of the dead wood squad!
We have been linked with his teammate Bradley Johnson for a while, first time by my knowledge we've been linked with Snodgrass. If we're going to raid Leeds for a player, why not Jonny Howson? Always looked quite a tidy player to me, haven't seen too much of Snodgrass to be perfectly honest.

I asked Phil to talk about various parts of Robertââ¬â¢s game and asked for a mark out of ten for each, and after initially shrieking ââ¬ÅYou canââ¬â¢t have him!!ââ¬Â, this is what he saidââ¬Â¦ Best Position - He's a winger primarily, for us he operates on either side, he is very effective at playing on the right and cutting in, however he is also very good with his right foot. Occasionally he has been used as a striker, but it's not his best position Skill / Technique - He's a tricky player to play against, just watch the Leeds v Liverpool game in the Carling Cup the other year to see how much trouble he caused them. His ball skills are very very good, his control when running with the ball is excellent and it is quite frightening how well he can get into a position to whip in a cross, and indeed the quality of his final ball - 7.5/10 Pace - Pace isn't his strong point, he never stops running though, whilst he doesn't have the pace to breeze past people, he uses his control and strength to get the better of most - 6/10 Intelligence - He's a very clever player, not just on the pitch but in the decisions heââ¬â¢s made in his career, he famously turned down Barcelona to stay in Scotland as he knew he could end up another promising young player who would never get a game there. On the pitch he shows good anticipation and is always tracking back and covering when required. Iââ¬â¢d say his anticipation and positional skills are among the best in the Championship, he works hard to find the space to allow him to turn and run at people which helps compensate for his lack of pace- 8/10 Passing - He knows that the simple passes are often the most effective ones and likes a good one-two every now and then. His crossing is very good, but like every winger his final ball can be wayward, though with him being truly two footed he isn't scared of putting the ball in with either foot which has defenders constantly on the back foot. He also takes a good corner - 8/10 Shooting - His shooting ability is as you'd expect from a goal scoring winger, he gets into some good positions to score, and he is one of the better long shooters in our squad. As I said before he's brilliant with his left good, and good with his right, it's what makes him so difficult to defend against - 7/10 Fitness - Fitness is top quality, he doesn't stop running, in fact against Scunthorpe earlier this year when we'd wrapped up the game he was still running 80 / 90 yards with the ball to get it into the corner to get a cross in, when everyone else had seemingly given up, much like Gradel, he just doesn't stop - 8.5/10 Conclusion - Personally I think he would be brilliant in the Premier League, but I'm not convinced he'd just up and leave, though Iââ¬â¢d imagine where we finish this season could be a big factor. Leeds would need to be offered a lot of money for him and by that I mean the ã7 - ã8 million bracket for it to be worthwhile, we got that for Delph and I think Snodgrass brings more to the table than he ever did. In the real world though I could see Batesââ¬â¢ head being turned by someone offering in the region of ã5 million for him, I just hope that they donââ¬â¢t! Thanks to Phil for the mini scouting report, it remains to be seen whether or not the interest is genuine and indeed whether Leeds join us at the end of the Season or not. On paper at least he certainly sounds like a prospect to take a chance on in the first instance to cover Matty and Jermaine, though perhaps not at the figures Phil is suggesting!
Snodgrass would be a huge loss to Leeds, the blog is pretty much right and I think Bates would take around ã5m for him. A good buy for a player still on the rise with excellent technical ability. He could certainly give Premiership fullbacks problems and you can play him behind the striker as well - though I guess that's what you do with Tuncay at the minute?
Tuncay was sold on deadline day in January sadly mate. It's either Jones and Walters or Carew and Walters up front.
Oh right, hadn't a clue. Silly me, all that Torres and Carroll nonsense clouding my vision! Yeah that looks like a pretty blunt attack really, someone like Snodgrass would give it a bit of class in creating and scoring. Not sure if Pulis would rather look abroad for someone cheaper though.
