I have just seen in this evenings sports news,that David Stockdale, has signed a year long loan deal with Ipswitch Town . The even better news , is, it appears, that today he signed a new 4 year contract, so MJ thinks this lad has a future at the Cottage.
I would rather have loaned him to a premier league club if we're going down the route of a loan and a new contract, Swansea were interested which IMO would have been perfect. However its great to see he's here for the long haul and that he'll get to play regularly this season. I assume then the new keeper we signed is a back up for schwarzer this season, with schwarzer making way for stockdale at the end of the season, assuming all goes to plan.
I believe the Premier League does not allow a player to be recalled if loaned to another Premier League side and they have to stay for the duration of the loan come Hell or high water at their parent club, hence he went to Ipswich with the 20 minutes notice recall clause.
