Sheff U started a thread on us. The OP was quickly put back into his box! https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/the-real-danger.69381/page-2
Barely mentioned again after the OP! I really don't think any opposition team are caught off-guard by us when preparing for matches, but the media and other supporters really don't seem to think much of us, except for maybe the odd patronising 'aw, aren't little Bristol (sic) doing well'. Sheffield United certainly play some good football, but occasionally can be susceptible in defence - it will be interesting to see how they react to throwing away a three goal lead to Villa. They have a number of good forwards, but I still think they'd be in trouble if Billy Sharp is out for any significant amount of time. McGoldrick can score goals as well, but not as many and I'm very sceptical that Scott Hogan can be a consistent goalscorer at this level again. What's potentially exciting for us is that in this mad league, everyone is dropping points somewhat regularly. That said, we still have to play those in and around us so it'll make or break us. On the one hand it's potentially daunting, but on the other they present a great opportunity to make even more ground. At this stage, I think Norwich are most likely to finish top of the pile, but I'm going to say that Leeds are wobbling quite a bit and I think they'll end up in the playoffs. West Brom are a side that I think could be the ones to put together a run to secure second, though they're a little Jekyll and Hyde too. Sheffield United certainly deserve to be considered amongst the contenders though. Our comparative lack of goals is probably the key factor in people writing us off, but we have one of the best defences out there meaning we don't need to score as many and when we do they come from all over the pitch rather than one or two players who would be massively missed if they became unavailable, perhaps unlike some of our rivals. It feels as though we have a real opportunity this season, somewhat unexpectedly, so I would be bitterly disappointed if we weren't still playing for something come the end of the regular season.
Long may it continue in my view!! It is strange though that 14 undefeated and 8 wins on the trot seems to mean nothing outside of BS3 and our outlying supporters around the globe!!! I wonder how many more wins/no defeats it will take for people to start taking notice?
By the time they notice we will have sneaked past most of them and it will be too late to do anything about it !!!!!!!!
All I ask the league to do in these heady times for Bristol City is to send your Manager of the Month award somewhere other than BS3. Please forget about us,rather like the media and all the other know it alls appear to do, and we will be happy left flying under the radar, thank you very much. It makes me wonder what the telly people would do if we actually got to that special place. Probably start televising badger nabbing or some other well known sport just to ignore us further. Ignore us at your peril boys because we know who we are.
