First post here, and on any board for that matter. I was taking a look at the players out of contract this year, and there are a few worthy names still available. Any that you would take? Jason Koumas Abdoulaye Faye (Just agreed a contract with West Ham) Shefqi Kuqi Sebastion Larsson J Lloyd Samuel John Pantsil Kevin Phillips Robert Pires Andy Reid Nige Reo-Coker Maik Taylor Steve Thompson Matthew Upson B Zenden Jeremie Aliadiere Marcus Bent Lee Bowyer Michael Brown Stephen Caldwell John Carew Lee Carsley Pascal Chimbonda Tamir Cohen Scott Dobie Kieron Dyer
Hi mate. This is the second list I've seen that doesn't have Earnie on it. I thought he was also out of contract...hmmm Anyway...J Lloyd Samuel looks like an interesting prospect
Whoops! My bad, maybe i should learn to read before i post.. Still, Nigel Reo-Coker & Andy Reid would have the midfield repaired slightly, surprised Kuqi and Dobie are about to go out on a free also, Lee Carsely a replacement for Rae?
You could make a decent side out of that lot, once we know what style of football we'll be playing. Need a manager first. My only concern with the list is that while they are all free, many will command hefty wages.
John Carew would do a good job - with Earnie. But would guess wages would be big (but how much different to Chops ??) could be the new little and large combo
theres are reasons all those players have been released. those players are either crap, too old, on too high wages or injured. but seriously, marcus bent, aliadiere? out of that list the only decent players are larsson and reo coker, and even then they're not much better than what we've had here over the past season.
Often players just need a change of scenery. This has been shown many times. there are definitely 3 or 4 there who would be worth a chance IF they can convince the manager (?) they are up for it.
I agree with Siam, Just look at what Blackwell did with his bunch of misfits a few years ago at leeds, all free's or loans. Just because Dave couldn't get the players focusssed this year doesn't mean that this bunch would require a wide berth
Erm, I think I'd give pretty much all of them as wide a beth as can be afforded. Let's get a new manager first.
Earnshaw offered new Nottingham Forest deal. "We are a long way apart with Rob Earnshaw, with what his ambitions are with regards to earnings and what we're prepared to pay." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13778131.stm
I'd like to see a list of managers first, that would be a start for this club, when will it happen? Dont think the City Board know.
