We'll pick up points in games no one expects us to and they'll be the ones that will keep us up.

No one expected Wolves to win at Anfield or be the first team to beat Man Utd in the league last season.

    Liverpool - D
    Sunderland - D
    Arsenal - L
    Man Utd - W
    Swansea - W
    West Brom - L
    Tottenham - L
    Chelsea - D
    Stoke - W
Man City - D (the only team to come away with a point from Man City this season)

Thought the officials cost us 3 points on Sat. The goal not given and a pen towards the end.

Im not confident at all but as long there is 30 pts to get anything could happen. One of my biggest concern is that lady luck has abandoned us and smiles to teams like Bolton and Blackburn. Blackburn and Bolton have also much easier fixtures left that we do. We just have to believe that the unjustice we get last saturday will united our team and we can achieve unexpected results from the rest of the fixtures. I really could not see that coming but im pleased to be wrong if it happens.......

I admire your optimism. I think the best we can hope for is for this team to fulful its potential and get a bit of luck which would get us wins at home to Liverpool, Stoke and Swansea and away at West Brom. However, I've seen nothing this season to suggest us even getting close.

If you have seen nothing this season to suggest us even getting close you have not been watching the same games as me. Did we not get close on Saturday then?

Optimism I like but a win against Man Utd at Old Trafford? Sounds more like drug induced delusions.

I am desperate to eat an entire humble pie at the end of the season as I'd promised to do when I posted way back when that we'd go down. Having royally fecked up the run of 'easy' games I reckoned Bolton would be sink or swim.

We can blame goal line technology (or lack of) or the linesman as much as we want but the ball over the line is not the reason we will be relegated. You get what you deserve and we are not good enough to remain in this division. Next season is a different kettle of fish altogether. Should we miracle survival then I'm sure there will be enough re-building to be a Premiership stalwart for a few years to come but that is a massive IF.

Go down and we will say a fond farewell to the manager, most of the players, probably the owners and a bunch of fairweather fans. I can only hope that we don't do a Leeds due to the wage structure of the club, my nerves won't stand another fall through the leagues.

Maybe I need to start taking the same drugs as those who think we will stay up.

I do hear what you are saying Grove but I do honestly believe that the decision not to award that goal will turn out to be pivotal to the relegation battle. It is all very well saying we don't deserve to stay up but there are four other clubs down there with us and only three of us are going down. These 'one-off' incidents are vital.

Interesting mix of doom and gloom and some optimism on the board in general. We could go on about the fact that some players don't seem to be able to pick out a teammate with a pass, don't challenge for many headers (apart from the defence) and don't seem to go for the 'second ball.' We could also muse about the fact that Diakite could be a liability and that Barton and SWP should be dropped. But, I thought that for some twenty minutes or so in the second half of the last home game you could almost see the confidence come back and we played some great football. I know Buzz missed a good chance in that game but why oh why did he and Jamie only get 10 minutes on Saturday. I'd hate to go down but, if we do, I just hope we play some great football again this season and it would be fantastic if the lads could put our position to one side and 'enjoy the ride' whilst they get to play against some of the top teams in the league. What will be will be - I have a lot of faith in the board.

Our run-in has been exaggerated imo. Yes we play the top teams but as we've seen this season, liverpool, chelscum, spuds (of late) and even man schity can drop points. It's all about form at the time.

The team is good enough to go on a decent run. We just need that first up win but with the FA trying to get back at us for last season, I really can't see us getting that lucky break.

Yes, we deserved a draw at Bolton (big whoop) much like we've had many matches where we didn't get what we deserved due to naivety/ineptitude/poor luck/woeful officiating (delete as applicable). Playing three defensive midfielders against a Bolton team that falls to pieces against decent wide play and losing a turgid match, albeit unluckily, suggests relegation. There was an excellent piece on Loftforwords comparing this season and the 95/95 relegation and the conclusion was that in the vast majority of matches we have been not very lucky or not very good. When we have been crap we've got beat and too often when we've played well we've shot ourselves in the foot or been undone by poor officiating.
