I am still in shock over us selling RVP to Man U. Honestly I just can't believe.
Never in a million years could any of us foresee him joining. Even worse, us selling willingly to them.

I'm not even angry at RVP. No matter what we think of him, he's doing what's best for him.
Yes, he's selfish and stabbed us in the back, but that's how the world is nowadays.

Either way, what on earth was Wenger and the board members thinking? Were they even thinking?

We had some gooners agreeing with Wenger's tosh about him not having any choice but to sell him to Man U. It made good 'business sense' he said.
Hell even I nearly bought into it.

But I guess that's what we are nowadays, a business.

No matter how bad it would be for our team spirit, we should have told the Mancs to stick it and just held on to him until his contract ran out.
If he joined them at the end, so be it. That would've made a big statement.

I don't even think Fergie expected us to sell RVP to him. Pathetic.

The guy's winning games for them single-handedly. Nearly did so today against Swansea. Worst mistake Wenger ever made. No balls.

Is it really the worst mistake Wenger ever made? United have to win a major trophy this season or their campaign will be deemed a failure. RVP is the golden boy at the moment but things can turn ugly at united if big spending is not accompanied by silverware. Only time will tell if selling him for a profit as opposed to keeping him until his contract ran out was an error by Wenger. I look at our team this season and IMO opinion RVP would have been the icing on what looked like a very appealing cake.

    Life goes on.

You're right. Things could turn upside down for them.

But I just hate us selling to them in the first place.

I agree, as if being humiliated 8-1 wasn't enough, we sell them our best player, the league's top scorer, and captain. With every passing goal or assist he gets for them, my irritation grows because it could have been avoided.

    <rofl>

It does hurt whenever he scores, assists or celebrates though. Personally, I would've held onto him if it was my call.

Meanwhile, we don't buy Santi or Podolski because we're short the £24mil, and we're stuck with a captain of the team who everyone knows doesn't want to be there. That's great for "team spirit", isn't it?

    Think things through. Seriously.

Robin Van Persie is said to be in 'stable condition' after being hit in the head with an air-filled foam & polyester orb. #prayforvanpersie

He's back from the dead, he's back from the dead, not from a gunshot but a ball to the head #PrayForVanPersie

Keeping RVP AND buying Santi and Poldi would have been ideal.

    Ha ha.

Don't ban firearms. Ban footballs! They're the real killer. #PrayForVanPersie

It is ****ING ridiculous we sold him to Man United and just shows how completely unambitious our club has become. This team would be soooo much better with a Striker of RVP calibre.

WE all know its fucking ridiculous, but WE are thinking in footballing terms.

To the board it makes perfect sense.

They think in pounds and pence.

Football is way down their list of priorities.

<doh> There's always one blinkered fool.

You really think we were short £24 million? Never heard Wenger say anything about that. Even if he did, it would be a lie. We didn't/don't need the money.
Not forgetting, we sold RVP after we signed these guys.

P.S. I've already addressed that bit (highlighted sentence). Could you see Man U ever selling us Nani or something? Not a chance.
There's just no way to justify this.

I was gutted when we sold RVP, especially to Man Utd. I think it was a mistake to do so, but I can see why the board did it. He'd made it clear he wasn't going to sign a new contract and he made it clear that he wasn't going to sign for Juventus and would only sign for Utd. ****ish ? Yes. Should we have kept him against his will in the hope he sign and risk losing the chance to sign Santi and Pod ? No.

But today I'm laughing at his attempted murder via a soft inflated ball to the head <laugh>

Sorry. Didn't we sign Cazorla, Giroud and Podolski before he left? What does RVP staying have anything to do with that?
