Yeovil earlier in the week sacked their manager. There are strong rumours that Marcus Stewart will be their next manager and he is also one of the main favourites by the bookies to get the job! Do you think he should stay with us or do you think he should jump at the chance to take the Yeovil job? State your reasons pretty please. Consider... Do you think he is ready for a manager job? Is taking the Yeovil job a backwards step (considering 2 previous seasons and where they are now this season)? Will it be too much for Stewart to do seeing it would be his 1st manager job? Do you think he is waiting to take over Rovers in some point in the future? Will be interesting to see your replies
Yeovil is not a very attractove job for any manager right now so I say he should stay with us until a better opportunity comes along.
I would like to see Marcus stay with the Rovers and if and when DC leaves take over from him unless a really good offer comes in and I'm not talking financially good
I've never thought that DC and MS work closely together......no real evidence, just impressions. You rarely see them in deep conversation; Steve Yates seems to be much closer to DC. After Tuesday's match, when interviewed by Radio Bristol about MS and the Yeovil job, DC said that he understood that MS wanted to be a manager, but said very little to give the impression that he valued him. I've always thought that DC can't wait to get Mikey Harris, his successor at Salisbury, in as his assistant.
The weakness which has been Rovers's main difficulty over the last two seasons is their inability to convert the large number of goal scoring opportunities into goals. Last season the formula seemed to be to lob the ball aimlessly into the box in the hope that one of our guys may get on the end of it. This season we have a better approach but the conversion rate is too low. If MS has been responsible for our attacking options, he would possibly not be missed.
Undoubtably I believe that Marcus would make a fine manager at some stage but I feel that this particular job could be presenting itself a little too early for him based upon the enormous task that would follow on after the appointment. It somewhat saddens me to say this but I think he needs to work as a number two under a more experienced ' old head' of a football manager at a more professionally run football club before he embarks fully on the managerial path.
Today's paper has even linked Ian holloway to the job I think it's a case of who's available in the west then splash there name about.
