Della-Verde, who arrived on a month-long loan deal from Fulham almost a fortnight ago, was handed his first start to a senior-level game after making two impressive cameo appearance from the bench in previous matches. The 19-year-old gave an exciting display, which included whipping in the telling cross to set Matt Taylor up for a late equaliser, but assistant boss Stewart warned: "He's a young lad and that means he is likely to run hot and cold at this stage of his career. He did play very well on Saturday, but it is important we don't expect too much of him too soon. If he keeps going as he is going then there is a danger people will think he can perform to that level every week. It would be great if he could keep putting in those sort of performances, but it is important we don't expect too much or heap too much pressure on the lad. We felt he had all the tools too adapt to this level of football quickly and we have been pleased with what we have seen so far. He's a good lad who has had a good education in the game at Fulham." Stewart was also pleased with the response goalscorer Taylor showed to being told that he would not be starting the game on Saturday. He said: "When things aren't going too well in front of goal for a player, it can sometimes help to take them out of the team for a game or two in order that they can collect their thoughts. We wanted to take a bit of pressure off Matty and told him we would bring him on to make an impact later in the game, and that is exactly what he did for us. Those little things can sometimes spark your season off and I hope that will be the case with Matty."
