I feel sorry for the lad to have got so close, but happy for us at the same time. http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2012/02/news-stewart-left-out-of-under-21-team/
I like the lad, but he's not been pulling up any trees of late. I don't think he's good enough for the England U21 side just yet.
Most wingers blow hot and cold. I think he was probably called up just so he doesnt accept the Scotland offer
Agree that it's disappointing for him but with wingers like Chamberlain in the squad it's not surprising that Cam will struggle to get in the team. Even without him playing, I still reckon Barmby might go for Brady and Mclean as he sometimes does away from home. Thought Mclean did pretty well when he came on against Brighton, although Cam did look a bit more lively again. Perhaps play Mclean and Cam and leave Brady on the bench for Blackpool.
Was it Cam's first experience of the England U21? If so I'm not surprised he's not involved tonight, but if he keeps making the 23 he could get a chance and possibly make the Euro's if the U21's qualify
Aye he's played for under 20's, but first time with the U21's. I think he'll get more of a chance in future squads as Oxlade Chamberlain will be playing for the seniors soon no doubt.
Cairney played for about 60 mins, so should be OK for the bench against Blackpool. Stewart will get his chance, get a few more goals and he'll be there.
Good news all round for City after the internationals. Evans was subbed @ half time so only played 45 mins. I expect Oli on the bench @ Blackpool. We may well need his experience towards the end of the game. imo.
Not sure about first name on the team sheet, I like Evans and McKenna but lately I have noticed we lack an 'extra man' in the box coming from midfield. Crosses mis everyone because there is only Koren in the box, Oli is more likely to arrive in the box on crosses and would probably head them home too.
That may be stretching it a bit but I would certainly have him on the bench at least. I would think the player to make way would be Cairney but he hasn't done anything wrong. On the other hand, Tom aint exactly setting the world alight either. Sure Oli will get his chance at some stage this month
Nick now appears to favour TC on the bench @ home and Oli on the bench for away games. Me, i would go without a backup GK and have 5 outfield players on the bench. Fortune favours the brave.
