Match Day Thread Stevenage (H) - League Cup

Few comments from the presser this afternoon:

• McGovern will start in goal. DF will stick with what we have in GK department, happy with the three 3 have. (Presumably means Oxborough is considered our 3rd keeper now)
• Aarons and Passlack unlikely to be involved, Farke wary of the 3 big brutes Stevenage have up front vs the kids.
• No homegrown restrictions to worry about in the cup
• Likely to be more than 3-4 changes. Hanley, Tettey, Krul didn't have much of a pre-season so will probably miss out.
• DF keen to have a look at some of our youngsters.
• Jamal Lewis might make the bench
• Buendia has returned to Spain as he's wife is giving birth.

Agreed, we need a positive result, and ideally a clean sheet too. I don't expect the team to be too makeshift, because we need to get some momentum going.

I have just found out that there is no extra time tonight. If the scores are level, it goes straight to penalties

 

At least we don't have Basil OR JR on the pitch!!!
AND I should have time for a pint before catching the bus home.

 

So happy with that line up. I don’t mind if we lose. Just really happy to see so many get first team football. Surprised and chuffed. Well done Farke.
