http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo.../Steven-Pienaar-wants-leave-Everton-loan.html Seeing as we're in the market for a midfield loan signing, might Pienaar be an exciting possibility? Fitness would be a bit of a question mark, but his apparent willingness to battle in the Championship, rather than take the easy option of a big-money move to China, implies that he's still got the hunger.
Indeed, but could be that Everton could be persuaded to pay a proportion. I doubt he's in the 1st team plans at all, so they could think that simply getting some of his wages reduced until he's released is better than nothing.
Very good player, but I'm sure there will be bigger clubs than us in the hunt were he to be available.
Can't believe his wages would be low enough for us - good player, but we really need a holding midfield player to cover for Korey?
He's 34 now lads. His current contract was his last big pay out. He knows he'll have to take a big drop in wages if he wants to play football in England. Silly really, he should have gone to China. Could have got decent wages for a few years, at 34 it's more a case of get as much money as possible than get as many games as possible. Anyway, I wouldn't be wanting Pienaar from that list, give me Gibson! Decent midfielder with a hell of a shot on him, plus only 28, so still in his prime with plenty of prem experience.
