Out-of-favour Tottenham pair Steven Pienaar and Sebastien Bassong are both hoping to join Mark Hughes at QPR before the end of Tuesday nightâs transfer deadline, according to The Guardian. The duo will have to wait to see if potential bids from the London outfit match the asking price of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who is apparently hoping to recoup at least the £8 million spent in particular on bringing in the French defender from Newcastle United. Bassong was on the verge of signing for Rangers at the end of the last transfer window back in August, but a failed move for Boltonâs Gary Cahill saw that deal abandoned. Pienaar has seen little action since arriving at White Hart Lane last January, managing just 14 minutes on the pitch for Spurs this season in the Premier League and making a brief cameo in Spursâ win over Watford in the FA Cup last weekend. Levy would be happy to see the South Africa international leave for a discounted price of just £3 million in order to bring down the clubâs wage bill, with Pienaar a top earner at the north London side on £70,000 a week.
Wtf? Bassong off to wolves on loan and pienaar back to everton on loan? What were we doing when all this happened?
Bassong is ****e! So happy we didn't make that signing, even I would have struggled to get something positive out of that one. In the end he turned out as some sort of signing for us though as he'll get Wolves relegated If Wolves go down with him will CernyB get credited with his second hit?
I think tottenham saw us a threat and wouldn't loan to us Either way I'm happy with the new signings.
