I was willing to give Ireland the chance for us,despite falling out with his last to managers.
He's now having a go at the Irish manager, Mr Trappitoni, who was just trying to get him to play for his country.

    ^the interview

“Ireland is reaping what it sowed,” he said. “We built blocks of flats just for the sake of it and now there’s no one inside them. It cost huge amounts of money and nobody is in a position to pay. But I don’t care about Ireland. I don’t know if I’ll go back one day. Live in Cork? I might as well shoot myself. I prefer Los Angeles.”

This quote really pissed me off. There are people having trouble putting food on the table and then this blad prat says something as stupid as that.It just show how unattached footballers are from the real world.

Never wanted the **** here in the first place. Our success in the last couple of seasons has been built on team spirit and camaraderie. The last thing we need is some self involved ****head upsetting the apple cart.

Aslong as he gets on well with his team-mates at Newcastle and plays well I'm not bothered much

He's only on loan though, if he acts like a cnut then all he'll be doing is training on his own and maybe playing in the reserves, then he'll go back to Villa, he's of no real loss to us financially or in quality.

Exactly. He does seem like a bit of a tit and seems like any other footballer, spending his money on worthless ****e, but as long as he keeps his head down and works hard for the team here I'm not fussed. If he doesn't then we don't sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season - simples!

I reckon his recent outburst against Houllier was probably him trying to engineer a move away (a la N'Zog) and down to frustration.

I don't think he's necessarily a mercenary for being injured here on loan. He could be sat at Villa getting paid and sitting on the bench/playing in the reserves. It is unfortunate that he's injured, but then again were there not concerns he'd failed his medical?

If what he's said is true about Houllier, then I doubt any of our players will move to Villa. Little plus right there.
