http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18027114 "Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale says the club's director of football and former Tottenham Hotspur player Steve Perryman is still "very ill" after undergoing heart surgery. Perryman was taken ill at Exeter's last game of the season on Saturday and has been in intensive care ever since. "He is very ill and will be for a while to come, we are hoping that he will recover," Tisdale told BBC Sport. "We don't know the full extent of this episode and how it'll affect him." Tisdale added: "It's going to be a long process whatever happens."
Oh dear, doesn't sound good at all that....best wishes Steve'o, if you show half the grit you showed on the pitch, I'm sure you'll be fine again.
All the best to you Steve from the whole Gooner family - these things trancend rivalries. Praying for you and your family . . .
Fecking Legend, hope he recovers soon. As a side note, in my footy manager game, the board built a new stadium called 'Perryman Park', was chuffed with that.
My best memory of Steve is him lifting the FA Cup at Wembley in 1981 after the replay. He's a legend in my eyes and I hope he makes a full recovery. This is his website. http://www.steveperryman.com/
Arsenal fan in peace. Always remember SP as Spurs captain in the late 70s/early 80's and always struck me as a classy kind of guy. Was immense for you in the EUFA (or was it Cup Winners Cup ?) Cup final. I wish him a full and quick recovery
If the current lot had half of his guts and determination, we'd be in with a shot at the title, instead of fighting to hang on to fourth place.
It is indeed mate, has a nice ring to it. Unfortunately new stadia are getting named after rich companys (for obvious reasons) and not the legends that preceeded them.
