2 articles on WoL today: -

    and

    http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...hurdle-in-cardiff-city-career-91466-32141464/

Make your own minds up. Which is sensible, realistic reporting and which is sensational and makes mountains out of molehills - which don't exist in the first place?

Why bother with the "Forgotten Man" article when the other one says it all in a sensitive unbiased way?

If Steve can return to full fitness while managing his illness he will add another positive piece to Malky's jigsaw and make team selection even more of a headache.

I'm the wrong man to ask as I'm a massive Macca fan, I'd love to see him fully fit but not holding by breath.

I think he would make a good coach so lets hope Malky will find a job for him.

McPhail is the nearest thing we've got to cover for Whitts, but it's not that near.

Undecided as to whether he'll get another deal with us. If we go up, the slower speed of the Premier League may suit his style, but there again, money will be available to strengthen. If we don't go up, the hurly burly will still be uncomfortable for him.

For all the stick he's got over the last couple seasons he's done a reasonable job for us.

I am also an admirer of McPhail, always gets on with hte job and very professional. Not sure he has a playing role for us after this season whatever position we find ourselves in. A good professional who could add to the youth team set up as his first steps into coaching/management. Good luck to the guy whatever he does once his playing career ends.

If he wants to carry on playing then surely he will have to do that elsewhere.

A great pro and I wish him well.

Whittingham is a constant threat to the opposition. A great goalscoring record , has a great shot and is great at set pieces.

Sorry Steve Mcphail doesnt have those attributes.

We have better , younger central midfielders who cant get a look in.

I do wish him well and it would be great if he wants to go into coaching if our club can find him a position.

macca's been a great player for us over the past 5 or so years, if we go up then he hasnt got the legs to play in the PL but so long as we are in the championship he still has a role to play, but obviously not as a week in week out starter, more like an hour here, and half an hour there......

his injury situation will probably plague him for the rest of his career so he needs to be managed, but you wont find anyone with a bad word to say about macca and as hilts and others said, if he ever calls it a day sign him up in some capacity, coach or whatever, his techinque and temperment are first class and he has alot to offer the players at this club......<ok>
