New Nottingham Forest manager Steve McClaren has been officially presented to the media at a press conference today, the BBC reports. The ex-England boss returns to English club management after three-year spell abroad and 16 months in charge of the national team prior to that. He said he is determined to get Forest back into the Premier League and had chosen to take the job rather than wait to see if he was offered a top-flight vacancy. McClaren said: "It's a great feeling to be here at Nottingham Forest. "You can smell the history and tradition of this club. I don't feel I have anything to prove after England. "Before and after England I have been successful and I have come back here for a challenge and for a club with great ambitions in Nottingham Forest." McClaren was sacked by the FA after England failed to qualify for Euro 2008. But he enjoyed a successful spell in Holland with FC Twente, where he won the Eredivisie title. His stint at Wolfsburg was less successful and he said he was now ready to return to England. McClaren added: "I could have waited and tried to seek an opportunity in the Premier League further down the line and I had quite a few offers from abroad but I have come to The City Ground for a new, big challenge. "This club smacks of history and tradition and now we want to build on that and create a modern culture. There are always big expectations here, not just outside the club but from inside as well. That's why I'm here."
