Did I miss something? I thought his contract would have been finished by now. Has it been extended? Can we say he's had a good impact on the team? I'd heard that he'd been coaching Hoilett and we saw improvements there. Somehow we need to change something in the middle, though. I feel that we're not essentially lacking up front as such. It's more to do with the creative element in the forward end of the midfield. There's too big a gap between the midfield and attack that is not being used. We obviously have a great selection of players to choose in the midfield so it leads me to think that it's a tactical problem. How could we change it?
Signed a 3 month contract on 02 July - so expires / subject to renewal on 02 October - one would assume.
Three months seems odd. Or did he think he would be getting a managers job else where. Will its all working at the moment give him the a full time job
I'd agree Sku, first time in two years we've had a defence and we're three clear at the top. Room for improvement for shure, but it's going all right isn't it.
Did you see Paolo Di Canio (attached clip) remonstrating with the Sunderland fans after their game, almost as if to indicate - do you want to hit me on the chin, go right ahead! A real bag of hammers that guy? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24190207
If our club plan comes to fruition and we win the comp and get promoted .......................... Harry will stay 3 months next season, hand over to SM and ride off into the sunset. If things turn to ****e this year ................. the same will apply with the exception that SM will come in earlier.
This guy is a walking time bomb......................... it's just a matter of 'how much' carnage he will create. The button has already been pushed, he's on auto pilot and could go off any minute. His parting comments to the Sunderland fans will be - Thanks guys, it's been a blast!
our formation need to be more 4-2-3-1 , we seem to be 4-5-1 and not supporting Austin. Wingers need to get higher up the pitch as full backs are good enough. One man from Cen mid needs to support Austin. Carrol or Krancjar. I can't see O'neill playing that support role. We have the players to make this work, lets hope it does. Saying that would take another 20 1-0's this season.
I read that as more "I'll take it (the criticism) on the chin" or "keep your chins up" Still think he's a dead man walking though...
I think Steve McLaren is helping to do us a lot of good on the training ground, the benefits of which we can all see on the pitch during matches. I hope we keep him on board a whole lot longer. IMO he's a great coach and the England job did him no favours, as is the case with most England managers.
Midfield ironically is where we have most cover, but is the area that is letting us down!!! That means it has to be tactics for me, especially against Yeovil.
