'On a precipice' - Bristol City owner sends warning to UK government as football faces bleak winter Steve Lansdown claims the suspension of pilot events to trial fans at games means there's "no light at the end of the tunnel" https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/on-precipice-bristol-city-owner-4575848. * “It’s so disappointing that we don’t have crowds in the stadium, it’s even more disappointing that the government has done a u-turn and stopped the pilots," Lansdown told Bristol Sport TV. "That’s unnecessary and I think they panicked. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/steve-lansdown-we-need-crowds-back/
I know this is a bit controversial but I must admit that it crossed my mind that perhaps our fantastic start may have been HELPED by the fact that there are no fans watching? Under LJ we were better away than at home - ok, that might have been the way LJ set out to play, but I wonder if there is something about the acoustics at Ashton Gate which doesn't inspire confidence when playing at home?
I don't think acoustics have so much to do with our home results, could it be the way LJ worried more about the opposition. Can't forget the last time Warnock brought a team to AG - he said how difficult it was for opposing teams at AG. It's also noticeable in almost every Holden interview he mentions 'we set up what suits our players not worrying about the opposition'. What about Villa's acoustics? Does last night prove or disprove your theory? Honestly R&W I think we, like coaches, overthink things. It's very early, City could lose the next few games at AG. What should we think then? Or could it be we are experiencing a dead cat bounce. I hope not.
Totally agree RP. It’s just a ‘niggle’ I get from time to time! I’m certainly enjoying the ride - hopefully it’ll continue for a long time !!!
as posted elsewhere no team has had the winter in "silence or canned laughter/ cheering" …... did it affect Lpool and Man U ? cold wet weather?
