Sven has said Steve Howard can leave on loan and that he is already talking to clubs about him. Derby and Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with him. I personally dont see what we can gain from loaning him out and i think we would be stupid to loan him out before we bring in another striker as well are already short in this area with no replacement for Yak and Vassell suspended
Hopefully it suggests that we are closer than we realise to signing a new striker? Especially if Schlupp is to go out on loan. Sven isnt the biggest fan of Waggy. So that leave us Nugent and suspended Vassell. Im sure Sven has spotted this one: good news on the horizon maybe?
I'd rather Howard stay, if we are going to play hoofball in some games (I'm thinking away) Howard is the only one who can do something with it. He's a very good option B/C. Hopefully he'll be replaced with someone younger and better but with similar qualities.
Hopefully this does mean someone is close to coming but Sven said 2 weeks ago we was closing in on a striker and still no one has signed
If he goes anywhere then i reckon it will be Derby - save him relocating, back to a former club, they want him. So seems a no brainer to me!
I'd like to keep Howard. He gives us Championship experience and is one of the few in our squad who have actually experienced promotion to the PL. Also gives us a different option if the passing game isn't working. Couldn't see him leaving before another striker is signed though. Wouldn't want this to mean Waggy and/or Schlupp leaves as well though because then we will be caught short.
I dont see the point loaning him out. Either keep him or sell him. If clubs want to buy him say 200K but if they take Vassell aswell they can have the pair for free
perfect for a slump in form or when things dont work. can destroy teams on his day- look at cardiff. wont play many games, but a key player at times!!!
Exactly. He is worth keeping, he adds that extra dimension and is the best in the league at doing so.
I would keep Howard but as back up but thats only if he is happy as back up, if he wants to leave then he should go out on loan. But i dont see what we can gain from loaning him out
Don't think Schlupp will go, Sven will/should want him close by to watch development and maybe play either from the bench or in the odd game from the start. Howard 30odd goals from 130odd starts, not a great strike rate and while a good target man may be better used playing for someone else for a while. Don't we have another French striker still?
Sven said after the Rotherham match that at the minute Schlupp isnt leaving but next month he may go out on loan. If Schlupp gets his chance in the league he will have to take it if he dont want to go out on loan
