Double Ashes-winning England and Durham pace bowler Stephen Harmison has today joined Newcastle United Supporters' Trust in recognition of the work the organisation does in representing Toon supporters.

The Ashington-born cricketer commented:
"I have supported Newcastle United since I was a boy and I have been really impressed with the work that the Trust does behind the scenes with charities such as the Toma Fund and Northern Money. The Trust gives match tickets to local achievers in the region in recognition for the often unsung work they do in the community. The Trust has worked with Show Racism the Red Card and recently set up a Junior Supporters' Trust to educate local youngsters about our really special football club."
