I was strongly leaning towards Stevie G when Jose left. I like his attitude to the game...think we needed someone strong minded who would get the players respect.

The big BUT as usual is that he's come from the Scottish League.

Hope he fails now or the Pool will be allover him and I can see him being successful there

    Down the Villa(and Newcastle)

I'm surprised he's gone to Villa, you are right though about the Scottish League isn't that more Championship level, maybe Gerrard has finally found his level. I really can't understand him leaving Rangers is their league really that boring ask @A.L.D.O 4.1 ?

Anyhow, l'd also have preferred to have seen him at Spurs, I'm a neutral and even I am going to struggle to want to see Villa up with the big boys....nah it's just not going to happen, bad move. Should at least have gone with the blood money, but Stevie boy is use to massive slip-ups!

    He does it every time....

Another massive reason to hate on Villa.

Hardly needed prising away from Rangers did he lol, a whiff of the big mulla and he was hammering down the M6.

Plus I don't watch Scottish football...maybe all he's done is to motivate one of the 2 biggest, richest clubs in Scotland...a club that has dominated Scottish football along with Celtic for decades and decades. I think his leadership skills are second to none if his playing days are anything to go.

Not too sure about his tactical know how but if it's lacking and whatever it is lacking in, will be exposed in the PL... either way, I think he's better than Ole.

I've watched a few Scottish games, I think one recently where Rangers won away 1-5, it might have been against Motherwell, I'd struggle to say Motherwell were even Championship level.

Actually just thinking about, we have a Scottish Premier club player with my lot, came to my lot on loan orignally, he played 41 games for Hearts from 2018... https://www.heartsfc.co.uk/news/article/lee-leaves-on-loan

Even he struggles to get in our first team, before Hearts he played for Luton Town.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Can't help but think its a bit early for him and that he should have stayed at Rangers for another couple of years.

    A punt from Villa.

Good luck to him, was quick to jump ship at Rangers. It's a step up in quality and resources.

Brenda will go to United, and you'll just be left with the scraps of someone like Warnock.

Van Bronckhorst is favourite to replace him, apparently.
Did well with Feyenoord, then bombed horribly in China.

Gerrard. The favourite for the Lesta job is Rafa! <laugh>
Next in line is Huddersfield and Schalke flop David Wagner, apparently.
One win over Man Utd with Young Boys seems to be why.
He's managed to drag them down from 1st to 3rd in the league already.
