What an impact tonight.

When he comes on he scares defences and makes space for others.

Okay sometimes he needs to get his head up more, but when some were worried where excitement on the right hand side would come from after Chamberlain's exit, this guy seems the real deal.

Really impressed and he needs to start soon, maybe Palace?

He just looks so dangerous, fast and skilfull.

Well played Mr. De Ridder, saved us tonight. (PS - Lovely flick by Guly)

Thoughts?

Could not agree more. Such an exciting player to watch and I hope we see more of him. He should definitely start against Palace <ok>

Him, Bart & Martin are confirmed to play at Palace

i like de ridder, his impact is 2nd to none and is better than guly atm

De Ridder is quick and skillful but will have to be deployed as a front man because he is not disciplined enough defensively and is adjusting to the English game. I expect he may start upfront instead of Connolly next game.

Just got back from the game, De Ridder made a huge impact on our forward play. Before he came on we were flat and lacklustre, after he came on we were far more dangerous. Good point, but Hammond was an idiot. What the f**k was he thinking of. Maybe he was frustrated, but he is the captain and really shouldn't have dived in like that

When you see it on telly, you'll see the first one was never a booking. The second one was, but it wasn't horrendous. Calling him an idiot is a little OTT. he worked hard tonight.

Maybe the first wasnt a booking, but he knew he had a yellow when he lunged in so he was an idiot in my opinion

Dug a result out when we weren't playing very well.

The Saints of old wouldn't have done that.

Alos, MOTD gushing about Grant Holt. Ricky's turn next season.

I agree Hammond was stupid to make that challenge but to be honest we drew the game so it doesn't matter, he's only banned for the carling cup game aswell.

Agree with Tomw19 Hammond was an idiot! Basic rule don't lunge when ya on a yellow card!

Not moaning at the result, if you look at the previous winners of the premiership and the championship, all of them teams have bad games, the difference is promotion/champion winning team and a decent team
Is they can play bad and still get a result.... We did that and we played very average!

O thought we lacked Schneiderlin today if honest, very impressed with Mr De Ridder tonight!

I think he will get more chances but Nigel seems to blood some of his new boys slowly when integrating them into the squad which is probably wise. I think Deanos dismissal was born out of frustration as Readings midfield put ours under intense pressure for the full ninety mins and denied us our usual control of this area and we coped pretty well given how well they played. Its a compliment to us that the main aspect of Readings game plan was the obvious desperation to stop us playing our usual passing game also our back four including Martin and the superb Kelvin were immense

Agree with doing the Lambert walk. De Ridder creates space when our front four can't find that pass from patient build up. Honestly not sure what his best position is, but it does seem he needs to work on his denfensive game, which they must be?

Adkins may feel that he is an impact player, because all teams tire if trying to contain Saints. Teams have to play at peak intensity against us and that's where our fitness and depth kick in. Hope de Ridder gets a chance on Tuesday.
