Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill insists his players must pass the ball better if they are to pull clear of relegation trouble. Although the 1-0 Boxing Day win over Walsall represented a step in the right direction for a City side that is no longer bottom of the League One table, their manager reckons there is considerable room for improvement. I didn't go to the Walsall game but a fundamental and basic requirement of football, even at our level, is keeping hold of the ball. We have relatively well paid so called professional players representing the club, and accurate passing and possession isn't a nice to have, it's a must ! COYR
Passing the ball is harder to do when teams are pressing high up the pitch - I thought Walsall did that well for 15 minutes but then seemed to stop doing it
'plus extra shooting practice for Sammy Baldock!' Spot on Massive. If he scored any of the other FOUR gilt edged chances then the pressure comes off - players and crowd. I'm always moaning about bloody Wafstaffe,Parish and Gillett but tbf Baldock needs to get a grip. One good thing against Walsall - at least we created FOUR gilt edged chances !
Don't pick Elliott then if we want to pass the ball accurately- With Reid and Pack out, can see both Elliott and Wagstaff starting.
