Steve Cotterill: 'Bristol City unlucky to lose to Reading'.... please log in to view this image Steve Cotterill says that Bristol City were unlucky to lose 2-0 to Reading in the Championship. By Jonathan McIntosh, Reporter Steve Cotterill has said that Bristol City were unlucky during their Championship loss to Reading. Early goals from Nick Blackman and Garath McCleary condemned the Robins to a 2-0 defeat at Ashton Gate. "We felt hard done by with the first goal and thought there was an offside leading up to it. Until then we had begun brightly," Cotterill told BBC Sport. "It hurt us badly and we just need one or two decisions to go our way at the moment. "We had a bit of bad luck hitting the post, but I'm not sure we did enough on the afternoon to deserve anything. "There wasn't the normal zip to our passing. I put that down to fatigue, rather than lack of confidence and we will keep encouraging the players to be positive because there is a long way to go in the season." The loss means that Bristol City remain in the relegation zone with five points from eight matches. http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...rill-bristol-city-unlucky-to-lose_247362.html
He doesn't seem to realise when we are well beaten at the moment. All well and good talking up the performances for the players confidence, however, if he really believes this and won't change the style, players etc, we could be in for a long hard season. A good dose of reality needed all round at the Gate it seems.
at least it is a come down from "MAGNIFICENT" rose tinted well that's to say the least, and hitting the post that was near the end of the game when 2 goals could have been a lot more if Reading had not relaxed
Lucky it was only 0-2 more like. We were 2nd best in every department. I could have played in goal for Reading and kept a clean sheet.
It was the refs fault, linos fault, the fact we had to travel for an away game, so technically it's the championships fault for having Tuesday night games.
Well he must of said that to the written press (about being unlucky to lose) because he did not say it in the radio interview - of course we should believe everything we read in the papers shouldn't we???
I blame the Johnsons. Come on Steve get your head out of your ass and admit the problems we have might be difficult or impossible to fix, because then you're back on planet earth. Just ask Steve Coppell what the background vibes are at Ashton Gate and perhaps you'll find the reasons why we have basically written off the season we all waited and supported so patiently. Not your fault, so you need to look up (way up) to find the ogre in the house. Don't be scared as you need to ask why this has happened.
I don't think we deserved even a draw yesterday. We never looked like scoring and to be fair nor did they second half
Reading took their feet of the gas second half, they had plenty in reserve. It was almost a training game for them.
What did they have to prove, that could have scored another 1 or 2 or risk us actually getting 1 and then its scenario of a 1 goal lead is it enough and we could come unstuck.. they did what they had to stop us scoring and go home 80 miles with 3points and top 6! worked out what SC ' s problem is .. self denial .. bit like the penny arcade where you keep feeing in pennies hoping you might just tip one or 2 or the edge . each time you fail "it's damn that was close, only if it had been a bit to the left or.... oh well maybe this one" you can never win as you are in self denial of defeat, but guess what you lose all the same!
