    Just listened to Bruce's interview.

He's my favourite manager of ours ever. I love his straight talking in interviews.

Yeah, I agree - and I love the way, when he's talking about agents ringing, that it's going to have to be a special kind of player to be even considered. He obviously realises that City are an attraction for an agent, who wants to get his player in with us.

Great stuff Brucey. Ya gotta love him!

He's always positive without being over the top ra-ra type stuff.

And Aluko and Jako must feel 10 feet tall after listening to what he says about them. Especially Jak - Brucey was saying all of that in front of him!

I wonder if he's still getting into Proschwitz head? Feel sure this fella is going to have a significant part to play in the New Year.

He seems a lot more laid back in interviews with us than he ever did with S'land.

Interesting to listen to Nige's interview as well. He's not as dour as he was with Burnsy but still comes across as unapproachable and dismissive, like when he was asked about a potential move for Knockaert. Bruce on the other hand just says it how it is. It's a great difference between Nige, Barmby and Bruce. Nige was just dismissive, tedious and by the end of each interview you knew as much as you did at the start, it really used to sound like he wasn't that bothered. Barmby was just very cautious with the media and with it being his first role he was wary that if he said anything risky it may be scrutinised. Bruce though seems comfortable in keeping the media, fans, board and players happy simultaneously, and all it seems to take is a bit of honesty and praise when it's deserved. As quickly as Bruce is becoming one of my favourite ever managers, Aluko is becoming one of my favourite ever players. He's such a joy to watch.

I hope Bruce realises we need a striker, central-midfielder, centre-back and goalkeeper

I think we all know that the real reason Barmby got the boot was not because of what he said.

I'd rather we just concentrated on a top quality striker and centre-mid. What's the great need for a CB and 'keeper?

    A striker - yes
a centre-mid - Depends what type. I think Meyler's got us pretty much covered if we can get him back.
    Centre-back - We have quality CB's - and McShane
'Keeper - Get Stockdale back and keep Jakupovic too, and promote Oxley to back up. Sorted

We really missed Meyler and his tackling.

I thought The Jak looked edgy today. It's tough to say whether or not that was nerves or just because he's a bit of a David 'Calamity' James type keeper. Either way I'd much prefer David Stockdale in goal...

We need a centre-half because Paul McShane is ****, Alex Bruce is worse and Abdoulaye Faye is getting on a bit.

I thought he looked good and if Stockdale's going to set us back more than a million I'd rather we concentrated that money on a striker. Bruce has played fairly well this season even though I don't rate him. In Chester, Hobbs, Faye and Bruce we should be okay.

i don't think you can moan about the defence if we second from bottom leaking 3 goals a game then yes but been were we are is down to the whole team including the 3 central defenders Bruce included who have all been excellent so forget defenders unless we went up then yes we may have to strengthen but there's still a long way to go yet, its to early to call the goalkeeper but in his first two games he has done well, i do agree on a midfielder for the simple reason that i think we are a bit small and a striker is a must but competition will be massive because there isn't to many good ones around and of the ones that are then most teams will want them

I think Brucie is enjoying managing without the pressures of Premier League management i.e Player Egos, Constant media scrutiny, Ridiculous pressure from fans etc. He seems to be enjoying the chance to try new formations (3-5-2) without having Mark Lawrenson rip it to shreds every night.
I still don't see how anyone can be unhappy with the defence?, Hobbs is back and is Solid, Chester is playing well and is quality, He's made a few mistakes, But not nearly enough to warrant panic, Bruce is Solid and is just unpopular because he is the gaffers son, and gets more unfair stick than anyone IMO, Faye as we all know is slow and getting on, But he's a tank, and knows how to read the game, And he's most probably a better front man than Mclean. And Mcshane, well he's just Mcshane.

halfway through the season and promotion or not there should be a lot on here eating their words , he has even managed to bring in such an inexperienced keeper - at any level here and abroad - and got him believing in himself , ive never spoken to Bruce , but he must be able to make people think they can run through walls for him, because they are !!
I hope his verbal magic can work with Prozzy or at least bend mr allams lughole into getting a proven physical 6yrd box ruffian !!

There were two comments I thought were odd.

When he was talking about us signing a striker he said about it being difficult because clubs don't want to sell in January (ie Norwich with Morison). Afterwards that he supported it by saying about how we weren't going to be selling. It seemed an odd idea to raise since all he was being asked about was signing a striker, and he seemed to go on about it a bit too long for me. Have we had someone sniffing around already?

Then when he was talking about Aluko not being in the ACoN squad it gave us the opportunity to keep hold of him "for January at least".

The full interview is on BBC radio Humberside iplayer - listen again feature. <ok>

Glad that you think so.

About spot on actually. Bruce said pre-match live with Burnsy that Stockdale, Brady and Meyler would be sorted in Jan. He hopes to keep them all for the season without any re-calls. Maybe permanant signings if possible. This interview said far more than his post match one.

You are reading too much into nothing. I bet he was wanting to kill any speculation over Chester more like. You know what some folks are like.
